I received a signed COLB this AM. It is in a PDF format. I cannot find how to paste it into the post ? I don't now if it's real, but appears to be from a law firm last night at approx. 11:30 PM.
Does anyone know if a PDF file can be posted ?

Very likely. Since they are the ones always pointing out that the 338.17.8 law did not exist in '61. Never bothering to mention that a pretty much equivalent one did.
One sig the small “n’s” lines do not all touch the line. The other sig’, all the “n’s” lines touch the line. It’s consistent in each of the top two sigs. And if a forger was that careful with the “n’s”, he’d have been more careful to make more of the sigs different.
That’s just my observation. I have no bias as to whether this is a forgery or not, I am no expert, and of course I’d like it to be genuine. But with no trail or provenance it probably is a forgery.

On the Post and Mail site, it says that the Martin Blaine Ericson was the doctor, and a doctor in HI woudln’t have signed if the birht was in Kenya.
It looks to me as though there are two XXs next to “Other”, and the MD, DO and midwife are empty. So, if it is authentic, the Ericson guy is “other”, not doctor.

Note also the registration dates. Aug. 8, 1961 for Obama, Aug. 11, 1961 for the Nordyke twins. (Aug 8 was a Tuesday, the 11th the next Friday. With that much time between the filings, you’d really have expected his certificate number to be quite a bit lower, rather than 3 higher than the younger of the Nordykes, Gretchen. You’d expect his to be 3 days, or at least 2, worth of births *lower* than theirs.
Not to mention the question of why his was filed so much faster than theirs, given that all were born on the weekend.
Yes the ‘other’ box is “x”ed. The ‘Martin Blaine Ericson’ could be a Hawaiian DoH official, or a vouching witness to a live birth along with Grandma Dunham?
Do we have any files of Barry’s own handwriting, perhaps a sentence or two in hbis handwriting? Leaving out the “E” in Madelyn Payne Dunham is the sort of careless error a teenage forger would make. And it would be instructive to have an example of Stanley Ann’s handwriting, too.
that is actually the way a home birth would be filed. Although the mother could sign as the informant, and grandma as the witness.
I wonder who signed as the witness for my granddaughters' youngest cousin? He was born in the ambulance on the side of the road. The tech had of course never delivered a baby before. Fortunately it was Aunt C's third child, so she knew what to do. :)
The middle name and the last name of the supposed source seem to be spelled the same. I wonder if the files of an attorney related to William Blaine were the source of the exhibit, or if we are being lead to that notion?
