I haven’t tried anything that does more than CCleaner does. I use it frequently. But, their defraggler isn’t so good.

OMG, OpenSolaris is beating the crap outta linux and *bsd for downloads. OpenSolaris, that’s like the Windows of the UNIX world. Ugh...

Virtual PC 2007 from Microsoft.

It allows you to install older versions of Windows inside virtual machines on your current OS. Although not advertised for Vista 32, version 2007 will let you install it.

I have a virtual machine for Windows 98 and Windows XP on my Vista machine.

Dear Dr.,

Please, help me. I have watched all of my grass grow. I have stared endlessly at my freshly painted walls, until the paint was dry. I even stood at my window for days on end, till the cows came home.

Now, I’m hooked on watching little red blocks move about on my Windows 3.1, AMD 486SLC25 personal computer with a 13” CRT computer screen. I can’t help myself, Doc, please, make those blocks turn Green or, blue, or even yellow...quickly...before I miss watching my toenails start to grow!

ImgBurn. Love it so much I bought it. Any of Russinovich’s stuff is awesome. Bought that too. Well, when you could :)

I don’t bother with anti-malware crap. All my porn surfing is done in a virtual machine so little chance of getting infected.

;-)

Please don’t take this personally, but anyone that’s gets so far under the covers in bed with Microsoft as to install LIVE!, well, I hope you have maternity insurance. LOL

I wouldn’t even let my Brother into my house until he re-formatted his hard drive to rid himself of that nasty wormware. And now he must raise his hand and swear that he is not infected by it, every time he comes over. hahaha

Yeah, UNIX! It can wipe your windows partition clean in seconds and give you REAL operating system!!

Boy, I'll say. It keeps screwing up the partitions I have on a usb hard drive. Never leaves anything behind though. I guess I should be grateful for that.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

FYI, I was the Pong champion XVIII Airborne Corps, Ft. Bragg 1972!

Personal favs:

-FDM (Free Download Manager)
-NetMeter (super for tracking bandwidth usage and current throughput)

Technically speaking, these aren’t system utilities:

- IrfanView (I use high end commercial graphics programs and still get lots of use from this)
- CoolPlayer (fantastic, blazing speed, absolutely no overhead)
