The battle for Poland has been over for almost a month. Sad to say, it is old news. Also, I don’t believe the Germans are issuing press releases detailing their real activities in the east. Finally, these threads only contain a small portion of the news published by The Times each day. I post the lead story and other stories that I think are relevant and interesting. I miss a lot. There could have been stories about Poland that I either accidently or deliberately left out.
I see from the digest that there was a story on p 6 about Frank being appointed governor general. But it seems to me that Poland was the first domino to drop, plus the way the Soviets and nazis tore at the corpse like jackals. But, I mean, it’s a whole COUNTRY. For the Brits to lose the Ark Royal is a huge deal, but it pales in comparison to a whole country.
Still, perspective is important. I read an author’s opinion about the average Brits view of geography. He said that they see the US as being about where Ireland is, and France is about where Russia is, and Australia is about where the US is.
