Does anyone recall seeing a thread here a few days after Hurrican Katrina, that linked to a website created by someone who lived in N.O., was a photojournalism student and was here on a student visa? His photos and detailed captions were awesome! They were the quality one would see in Time Life books or NatGeo.
The most important part of it all, however, was that he told of out right lies the media were showing to the American public. He was disgusted because he was watching members of the news media who he had idolized up until that point, reporting lies.
The link to his photos were up for about a day, maybe two, then disappeared. If this rings a bell and anyone here is able to provide me with the link, I'd appreciate it.

Did you try a search on “Katrina”?
Oh yes.
I have combed over lots of photos and threads here on FR and Flickr. I think the photos were on Flickr.
They were so GOOD and so well documented that it made me wonder if he got a book offer for them.

I’ll check back later, sounds like something I would like to see.
Average people do a better job than ‘reporters’ with huge salaries and perks.
Pinging to see them too...
He chronicled their odyssey of getting from their apartment to the dome, only to recognize from afar that the situation was something they did not want to get into the middle of.
They ended up going to some type of business where a friend of his worked and getting a set of hidden keys and grabbing a truck and getting out of NO.
Have you posted a question regarding this on the FR Louisiana board?
Is this the photo? I found under images of Jesus after Katrina. The statue is located on the grounds of St. Louis Cathedral in New Orleans. No clue who took it.
This picture shows that the thumb and forefinger on the right hand were all that were broken.
That IS the statue!
THere was a photo taken from a distance that showed several HUGE trees fallen all around the statue.
This is a good start!
Like I said, this guy’s photos and commentary were “book quality,” probably the BEST documentation of what REALLY happened in NOLA! Was yanked after ONE day on the internet!
LOVE your tagline!
