This moving six-minute clip goes way beyond softball to touch the heart.
Great people still exist in rural areas Washington and Oregon. Take away the solid blue big cities, and the Northwest would still be God’s Country.
Thought this would cheer you ping!
very nice. thanks.
How nice,

Very true.
This is one of the reasons I so love fastpitch softball. I have yet to see an instance of bench clearing, spike up, or any of the other ‘rough and tumble’ crap that baseball produces. These young women learn to compete, do their best, and respect each other. This is what builds character
I didn't hurt my knee, but like this young lady, was a line drive hitter in college, never once hitting anything more than a double and ended my career with a .352 BA. A few years later, I ended up playing against my college softball coach in a slow pitch tournament. She was pitching. And I hit my first ever home run off her. It cleared the fence with lots of room to spare. I can not express the joy at hitting a first home run. I hit another one a few innings later but was called out due to the home run rule. After the game, my coach came up to me and said, 'I never thought I'd ever see you hit a home run.' Then gave me a big hug.
I've never forgotten that day. So I'm touched to see opposing players help this young lady have the same, unforgettable feeling.
I played organized fast pitch softball for 20 years. I was still learning things about life from it in my 40s.
It’s a great game.

Sometimes character is defined by what you do when EVERYONE is watching you. with apologies to former Congressman J.C. Watts.
Damn that brought tears to this old farts eyes
Thanks, Jo. Blessings to all.
You need an allergy alert on that.
Thank you all for stopping by and
so happy that this was an encouragement.
Let the Lord be the lifter of your head.
His forever... Jo
What is "the home run rule"?
Thanks,
LH
That’s a cool video. Thanks for posting.
My daughter was an excellent softball player, her team’s main pitcher, for many years. I miss watching her play.
