Relevant how?

For the Dems, I'd nominate the crowd of Obamanite chanting "we want pie". For Republicans, I'd cull the convention speeches of Rudy Giuliani and Sarah Palin.

I remember McCain kept on saying Obama’s going to turn this recession into a depression. Looks like he’ll be proven right.

I’d like to pull one out from the 1992 election and apply it to the 2008 election - “It’s the economy, stupid”.

Refresher course;)
http://www.saidwhat.co.uk/survey/best-political-quotes.php

Our politicians are known for their gaffes, mistakes and on occasion downright dishonesty. But sometimes they come up with memorable sayings - for either the right or wrong reasons - and sometimes genuinely inspiring stuff. Here are your top ten political quotes from a range of politicians past and present:

We shall defend our island, whatever the cost may be, we shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender.
- Winston Churchill
Ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country.
- John Fitzgerald Kennedy
The lady’s not for turning.
- Margaret Thatcher
I have come to the conclusion that politics are too serious a matter to be left to the politicians.
- Charles De Gaulle
You teach a child to read and he or her will be able to pass a literacy test.
- George W Bush
Now is not the time for soundbytes. I can feel the hand of history on my shoulder.
- Tony Blair
It’s no exaggeration to say that the undecideds could go one way or another.
- George Bush
The trouble with this country is that there are too many politicians who believe, with a conviction based on experience, that you can fool all of the people all of the time.
- Franklin P. Adams
I did not have sexual relations with that woman.
- Bill Clinton
You are the deals-on-wheels Prime Minister - no wonder the Chancellor is not a happy eater!
- Michael Howard

Sorry. I should have explained myself better. By relevant, I mean the quotes may not have occurred during or after the 2008 election but the content makes them relevant nonetheless. I think the quote I posted was from 2004 or so but could very well be mistakenly attributed to the year 2008 or 2009. I

"Regardless of the outcome of the Presidential election, the 2008 election cycle has been a winnowing season for all Americans who claim to be followers of Jesus Christ. Both major parties nominated individuals whose views discard the nation’s founding principle of respect for the authority of the Creator God."

“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. ”

“Think of the Press as a great keyboard on which the government can play.”

“The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.”

“The most brilliant propagandist technique will yield no success unless one fundamental principle is borne in mind constantly - it must confine itself to a few points and repeat them over and over”

“Intellectual activity is a danger to the building of character”

All of these quote are NOT by someone on the Obama Campaign, but Joseph Goebbels, Reichsminister of Propaganda in Nazi Germany.
