Another political app rejected by Apple (this one created by Freeper)

I am in the same boat as the developer whose app was rejected (and later approved under pressure) by Apple. So far, our app has been rejected three times by Apple because "... it contains content that ridicules public figures".

Our app is a countdown timer to the 2010 midterm elections, 2012 presidential election, and 2013 inauguration. The images are included below.

Can you help a fellow Freeper get his iPhone app published by Apple?

TOPICS:
KEYWORDS: apple; iphone; political; rejection
Here one of the three rejection letters. All of them are identical in wording.

Please include the line below in follow-up emails for this request.

Follow-up: 81648063

Dear Mr. xxxx,

Thank you for submitting OutOfOffice! to the App Store. We've reviewed OutOfOffice! and determined that we cannot post this version of your iPhone application to the App Store because it contains content that ridicules public figures and is in violation of Section 3.3.14 from the iPhone Developer Program License Agreement which states:

"Applications may be rejected if they contain content or materials of any kind (text, graphics, images, photographs, sounds, etc.) that in Apple's reasonable judgement may be found objectionable, for example, materials that may be considered obscene, pornographic, or defamatory."

If you believe that you can make the necessary changes so that OutOfOffice! does not violate the iPhone Developer Program License Agreement, we encourage you to do so and resubmit it for review.

Regards,

iPhone Developer Program ********************

Just did a search in the App Store for Bush. Just a few examples:

"George Bush Quick Quotes" - random quotes intended to make W look bad.

"The Fall of the House of Bush"

"House of Bush, House of Saud" - The secret relationship between world's two most powerful dynasties.

Apparently they don't have a problem with content that is offensive to Republicans - just to the Messiah.

Try replacing your photo of the Straw-Man Child with something else. After it’s accepted, you can claim that Apple was racist for rejecting it until you removed his picture :-).

Your rejection is likely a combination of 3 things:

*** They Apple people are terrified of having licensing issues with the government. Like the media ( conservative and Marxist) and the Birth Certificate issue, the Apple people are quaking at the thought of offending up and coming tyrants.

*** The Apple approval guys remember the shots fired at Lou Dobbs house and the passport guy found shot to death in his car the night before he was to testify.

***The people at Apple are Marxists anyway.

It is frustrating as a developer since you would like to see consistancy in standards across the board.

This is a Brave New World that we are living in. Didn't you know that all animals are equal but some are more equal than others?

Animal Farm, eh? Seems very fitting considering our current administration’s love for socialism.
