"American Idol" runner-up Adam Lambert's vocals weren't top-notch at last night's American Music Awards, but nobody really noticed. How could they, given his over-the-top and in-your-face sexual choreography. Lambert's act during the show, aired on ABC, featured male dancers on leashes, an open-mouth kiss between Lambert and his male keyboardist, and simulated oral sex, both male-on-male and female-on-male.
Naturally, boundary-pushing Hollywood hailed Lambert's performance.
"As a TV viewer, I thought Lambert's performance was a gas, a delight, a blast of brash vulgarity in the midst of ordinary vulgarity," wrote Entertainment Weekly's Ken Tucker.

Evidently his orals were...
Disgusting. Lambert is a pig.
I watched it to see Carrie Underwood. Even she was “touching herself”, clad in skimpy silk underpants.
I turned it off after that. I am so sorry to see her go the way of all the other pigs. I thought she had more integrity. She also looked coked up. Her eyes were glazed and fixed. Poor girl.
What a bunch of deranged debauched narcissitic punks!
Pimping this disgusting pervert is just their latest effort at fagging up American popular culture.
I watched the youtube clip. Vile and his voice wasn’t anything special.
I stopped watching quite a few crude performances ago. Good call on my part!
Hmmmmm...something wrong with his logic...now let me think about it...
Or really gives a sheeeet???
Adam who?
Just kidding. I stopped watching those award shows...don’t think I’m missing much. The really great artists, actors and entertainers are shunned in favor of gays and scantily clad women who are about as talented as I am (and I’m not). The truly great stars are passed over.
Sodom and Gomorrah
This year’s installment was either about corpse worship (Michael Jackson awards) or gay parade showmanship more often than not.
Heck, Perez Hilton was on screen more often than not.
When you see the crap that passes for entertainment in this country it is easy to understand how our current president was elected.
After a few minutes of incoherent rap, I gave up. They need to make rap performances in public a criminal offense. Who in their sane minds would buy their records or even listen to their music. This Lambert guy is a freak. Wasn’t around by then time he came on. The gay and lesbian issue is now a Democratic Party platform thing. ABC Entertainment, Disney etc is all gay all the time. Boycott the channel.
nope. and I really dont care who Adam Lambert is.
Was I the only one totally distracted by the lack of pitch or any sort of tonality in the song at all. I missed all the rauchy stuff because I was focusing on trying to find the key.......
“ABC is the Fag Channel. Disney is all about faggotry”
Truthfully, the big thing they pimp out is the Disney pop franchise they own; Miley Cyrus, The Jonas Brothers, Zach Efron and High School Musical, etc.
So they’re more about making people gay than showing them gays.
This guy is a GREAT singer. ANd I mean a world-class singer
if you’ve heard stuff he was doing in musicals even 5-7 years ago, and putting that together with EVERYTHING he did on Idol,I don’t know how anyone could not be in awe of his talents. It would truly be a shame to popular music if his talents weren’t given their due, but if the AMA show is any indication, it’s his dubious taste that might do him in.
I haven’t anticipated witnessing the post-Idol career of anyone Idol contestant more than Adam Lambert’s: it’s an amazing thing to see total unknowns like Kelly Clarkson, Tamyra Gray, Bo Bice,Carrie Underwood, the two Davids, Carly Smithson, and best of all last year, Alison Iraheta get up there week after week and blow you away. The best ones get some kind of recording careers, but TO A MAN, (or woman) they’ve all been put into totally commercial directions, and the “thrill is gone”, to a large extent. This would of course be the natural direction a performer would go after anyway, but not a single one of them can recapture the magic they left behind when they were under so much pressure on that show. Adam Lambert out of all these, is in a class by himself, and I dearly hope he sheds this over-the-top act he did on the awards show, (which I only watched the last 5 minutes of because I knew he’d be on it)
He doesn’t need it. and his vocals ,for the first time I’ve ever seen, were all over the place, because the song and the staging were also all over the place.
*-Dead White European Males
Ick. And I didn’t even know the show was on. I can’t bear to watch the clip.
Haven’t watched any awards shows for so long, maybe 20 years? When the quality of entertainer went in the tank, I stopped caring who won anything.
I am sorry to read that Carrie Underwood was less than lady-like. That is disappointing.
The huge tsunami of sexual content has been slowly washing ashore in this country. Where and how will it end? Rome? It has overtaken our children not only in the media but also in schools and teaching materials. I see it getting much worse before it gets better.
I hope they ban him...
That was my first thought, Cedar.
I wasn't terribly impressed with him on the singing contest show ... and that puke he did last night was of negative value.
Hey.....how did I write this without writing this? Well said!
You’re right...Every friggin’ TV program seems to have a fag.

You’re right...Every friggin’ TV program seems to have a fag.
Do you get paid by the word?
Internet flunkies don’t make much money nowadays, but —what the hell— it’s a job.
Maybe Adam will turn into a pillar of salt and give us all a break!
I missed Adam Lambert’s deep throating, but I did Tivo the event so I’ll go back and see it.
I watched last night, and most of the vulgar sexuality was particularly unimaginative. Shekina just gyrated and thrusted her pelvis forward and back along with about 60 other dancers doing the same thing. Her song had one line but she sang it over and over again. A pan shot of the audience showed that most of them were bored.
Bored is the natural response to very dull riske nonsense. If everyone’s skanking out, then it’s not new and it’s not cutting edge.
There was this performer named “Lady GaGa” who was pretty vulgar and trashy but she had a dozen-fold more creativity than Shakira. Lady GaGa, during parts of her routine, played the piano. She would pause in playing the piano to break a bottle over the keyboard and continue playing.
It was boring again.
Boredom, boredom, boredom - that’s all it entailed. I get it with the “pushing the envelope” and I understand that you could say pop music has always lacked originality but this was mindnumbingly boring.
I don’t personally believe it could have brought much in as far as TV ratings go. There’s so much more to watch.

Throughout the number, the guys were either gazing at or reaching out for her crotch, and she grabbed it once or twice herself.

Hope no one is eating dinner while looking at this. It is a real Barf Moment.
It was disgusting, the most abhorrent thing I’ve ever seen on TV.
Ed
He’s a weirdo.
It was a degenerate homosexual foisting his dispicable degeneracy upon the people watching it. S & M gay kisses, just outright disgusting behavior. I am still sick after seeing it last night.
OH my Lord help me.
Thank You Lord for giving me the nudge to turn on PBS. My girls heard Janet Jackson and ran downstairs. The older one wanted me to leave it on. Jackson was bad enough.
Thanks for posting the picture, it does say 1000 words.
I’ve noticed over the years that the more money some people have, the worse they dress.
She is so beautiful, why get all tarted up like that? Just because she can? Jeans and a shirt and some western boots would have been way more appropriate and natural.
The creepy leering men are a nice touch,,,not!!!
Man am I glad I didn’t watch that show!
I wonder if they gave a slew of awards to the late, weird, Michael Jackson?
I’m really upset about Carrie.
It’s like she has sold her soul to the devil.
Yes they did! The Corpse got all the highest awards.
How sick is that? Corpse worship!
I am too.
You know it’s bad when you can’t even turn on one of your favorite stars.
Couldn’t agree more...he thinks he needs this far more than he actually does. Then again, look at the field he’s competing on. Making a spectacle of yourself is practically a requirement to being “taken seriously” in pop music nowadays. “Too safe” = unmarketable to teenagers, no matter how talented you are.
UGH.
Did you guys see this? Don’t scroll up if you’ve just eaten.
Flambert is trying his darndest to destroy the Idol brand. *ptuiiey*
Sick and depraved.
Why is it that when we criticize their behavior we’re told to “stay out of our bedrooms” but they don’t flinch over bringing their bedrooms into our living rooms?
What? A homosexual turned their moment of attention into a display of blatant in-your-face sex and moves meant to “shock” people? Color ME surprised! (/sarcasm off)
OMG!!!
They did NOT show that on TV!!!
I had lunch 4 hours ago and that pic is still hurl-worthy!!!
(excuse the blatant over-use of the !)
I have to go puke now...
“Palladin”, huh?
What does it say on your business card,
“Have meaningless snark, will travel?”
If you have something to say, then say it.
These little drive-by potshots are meaningless,
they might make you feel better,or more self-righteous but don’t advance
the cause of discussion in any way.
I’ve been flamed before, but not often, and your
sarcasm comes off more like a Zippo lighter nearly out of fuel.
Lambert's sleazy gay-explicit performance on the AMA awards show justifies my decision, made some years ago, not to waste my time on these shows as they often feature raunchy performances by no-talent performers I've never heard of. Apparently, they've only gotten worse. Always trying to outdo the last show with ever more tawdry acts and crass 'performances' that belong in a low-end strip club or gay bar, not on television.
There was more—much more. He pressed some guys face into his crotch. Gay porn on primetime TV. This is what the world has come to!
