If you have been through the temple, then you must have gone through AFTER the 1990 changes then, otherwise you would know (and believe) that “Christian” ministers are the hirelings of Satan according to LDS faith and doctrine.

Most Christians (esp Evangelical ones) dismiss both Robert Tilton and Benny Hinn and do not consider them representative of Christianity either.

Is this a case of a victim being fed “milk before meat”?

Thanks SZ, for “Mormonism in a Nutshell”. :)

1. Over 4000 revisions to the “most correct book ever recorded” (BoM).
2. Noone gets to heaven without Joe Smith’s approval.
3. Non-mormons banished to lesser “kingdoms”.
4. Only temple endowed mormons allowed into the Celestial Kingdom.
5. Men can become gods and rule over their own planet.
6. Men get to be polygamous in heaven.
7. Women are to be eternally pregnant bearing “spirit children” for eternity.
8. Jesus “earned” his godhood by doing works.
9. Even the devil gets to heaven (Telestial Kingdom).
10. God resides on the planet Kolob.

Some of the nicest, most responsible, and most temperate people I have ever met are Mormons.

- - - - - - - - -
That may be true, of course some of the nastiest, most backbiting, and financially predatory people I have ever known have also been Mormons.

Either way, it still doesn’t make them Christians.

Ten minutes of a Rober Tilton broadcast is all I generally need to dismiss any of the “holier than thou” claims I hear from the self-professed keepers of the Christian faith.

And I say that as a Christian.

Then you just labeled yourself as a *self-professed keeper of the Christian faith.*

Especially in light of your constant demands that people accept YOUR definition of what a Christian is, instead of what Jesus teaches in the Bible what a Christian is.

You'd think it would be up to HIM to determine what qualifies as a follower of his.

And yet, you reject that can call it cultist.

How can you call yourself a Christian when you don't see the necessity of following Christ, but rather follow a church.

No, I haven’t. And I apologize for dissing your hero, Mr. Tilton.

you seem to imply that LDS is a cult. Do you personally believe that to be true?

- - - - - - - -
I do. The LDS fit all 3 definitions of a cult.

Anthropolgically they are a cult - all relgions are.

Sociologically they are a cult - there are many aspects that reinforce “group think”, individuality is repressed, control of behavior and the like.

Theologically they are a cult - they part ways with traditional orthodox Christianity in their view of God, their Christology, and their Soteriology.

So yeah, they are a cult, no implication needed.

Speaking of not directly answering questions, you totally evaded several from me, ansel, and others, like Elsie and JR.

How about YOU taking a turn and actually answering something someone asked you, for a change?

My questions in posts 283, 294, and 296, still stand. You haven’t answered them yet.

My hero? Please provide a link to back up your assumption about who I think highly of.

Is that all you have left when you can’t win an argument, to try to discredit someone by misrepresenting them and what they believe?

(Rhetorical question because I’ve seen you in action before and know the answer)

Let me start with 283: apparently you prefer Obama to a potential GOP nominee. That makes it rather hard to think of you as a conservative.

The rest of your questions are equally inane.

Why should anyone give a flip about what one denomination thinks or says about the legitimacy of another?

Well, apparently YOU do.

So you tell us.
