According to papers here in Mexico, polanski couldn’t raise bail and will be staying in jail.
I guess we’ll see which report is correct by Tuesday.

There is a silver lining in this. Arrogant Polanski thought he’d never have to spend a day in jail for this. Even if it wasn’t in CA he still got to sit in a cell. I’ll bet that really stuck in his craw.
Too bad he hasn’t paid a dime of the $380,000 he owes the victim from the civil suit.
Okay, the question is...do they have enough teenyboppers to keep him happy and occupied until he gets extradited?
