There was a mail van in front of them that swerved to avoid something (a tire, IIRC) in the road, they swerved, one of the vehicles struck another car, and this woman’s car went up onto the median and the door flew open. At least, that’s what I have been able to gather from the reports.

Basically, it involved cars swerving to avoid something in the road.

A cable on the highway I believe. Was NOT Tom Brokaw’s fault. The article said the SUV was coming up FAST and it went on from there. I’m sorry she was not wearing a seatbelt. Very sad.
