I hope so FReeper friend. I gotta tell ya many folks at work think things are humming along well since the stock market picked back up. They chuckle when I tell them about the national debt, the actions of our government, and the difficulty treasury is having in the T-Bill auctions. The loss of liberty...well that just can't happen here. Course I live in VT so there is that.

I think a very wise man once said this about liberty and freedom (I am paraphrasing): People will not realize they have lost their liberty and freedom until it is too late. Government takes away freedom and liberty a bit at a time so as not to be noticeable and obvious until finally it is gone altogether.

"...the polls will indicate the level of opposition and people willing to stand up to him and his."

I think his poll numbers also have a lot of influence on his control of members of his own party, too. In January of this year, no one made any jokes about "the One"--now he's becoming fodder for the late night comedians. Soon it will be more widespread.

Note also that even the foreign press (who once worshiped at the alter of O) is now hinting at clay feet. I believe that as the fiascos mount up, both at home and abroad, he'll be a very public laughingstock, and his power over congress, world leaders and just about anyone else will be zilch. I'm not sure which poll number will herald this moment, but I think it's getting closer.
