Is anyone else been having problems with Firefox freezing up on them? not shutting down? not responding?

I remember when I first started using Firefox, it ran rock solid. I happilynupdated to newer versions when they became availiable. But over the last handful of versions, i've found that it has been freezing up and not reponding, with an increasing frequency. And with each new vwersion, it's mostly bug and security fixes.. but I just loaded up thne newest version today, and in less than a hour, I found myself, one again, having to use the task manager to shut the non responding Firefox prg down.

Is anyone else expiriencing this?

It works great & oddly, that google toolbar doesn’t show up in my browser...even though I want it to.

I’ve had several crashes since the last 2 updates, and when my turn my computer on from sleep mode, I have to restart Firefox in order for it to work (running Win 7 64 bit)

Same here. I’m running the latest version of FF on a Dell with XP and a Toshiba with Windows 7 with a few add-on’s and haven’t had a single problem with either one.

No reboot has ever been needed on my current XP box. I just have to wait maybe 15 seconds before trying to restart Firefox.

Anyway, as I said in another post, it appears that the problem went away with the latest update of Firefox.

Firefox runs just fine for me including plugins. Win7 x64, avast anti-virus, adaware, spybot s&d.

I did have some problems a few updates ago (I am up to date now) but they were fixed by mozilla updates.

Check your anti-virus compatibility. AVG gave me problems so I switched to avast! Home edition (free) and works great.

I’ve been using it on a Mac without any real complaints.

My wife complains of crashes using Firefox, but I almost never have any problems with it—in a different account on the same machine! So either it’s due to a difference in the sites we visit, or something loads in her account but not mine, that Firefox doesn’t like. We’re on Firefox v3.5.6 on XP Pro.

FasterFox extension is no longer supported. It NEEDs to be removed.

However, FastestFox is a new extension that takes over where FasterFox ended. Install that, enjoy.

My bad. We’re already on 3.5.7. Made the other post from memory without checking. Now I’m having trouble remembering if she’s complained since the upgrade. Even if she has, it’s not a constant problem anyway, so she may not be aware it’s fixed till we’re on the new version for a while with no crashes.

No problems at all with Firefox here. I’d suggest FF isn’t your problem.
