Here is graphic raw video showing the devastation in Haiti caused by a powerful 7.0 Earthquake that struck the country today, centered near the capital city of Port-Au-Prince. The video shows the catastrophic results to buildings and life.
At around the 1:20 mark of the video, you see the Presidential Palace which suffered major damage. We are undoubtedly only beginning to see the proportions of this disaster in the poorest nation in the Western Hemisphere. . . . (VIDEO)

Notice the size and (former) splendor of the Presidential Palace. Looks to be comparable to the White House and grounds, in size. But Haiti is very much smaller, and very much poorer than the US. Somehow it manages to afford lots of government though. Which is why it remains so poor.
