VANITY: All you EEYORES can give it up to the rest of us now
Vanity ^ | 1-20-2010 | Eeyore

Well how about that, Scott Brown won the Senate election in Massachusetts.

All you EEYORES who were negging the threads and naysaying any chance Scott had at winning can give it up to all the rest of us, the vast majority I daresay, who were actually finding something positive to do or to say about the situation.

Maybe consider the real effects of the health care bill, if it should be passed, rather than the political ramifications of having someone in office who is not quite as conservative as we would like. Reality versus ideology.

You are an idiot.

Just to be clear, are you calling me an idiot because you think Scott B. is NOT a RINO?

Just exactly how do you advance conservatism with Martha the idiot? This was a large movement from the far left closer to center. And once again I say to you fools do you honestly think that Mass and the country can be won back in one election?

You one issue people are ALWAYS destined to be disappointed.

Tell me once again how would a Martha win have helped the conservative movement?

GET A CLUE!

No. I am calling you an idiot because the right won and big battle yesterday and you just want to carp about Brown being a RINO. Would you feel so much better if Martha the idiot won? Do you think the perfect conservative candidate could of won? No way. This is a big step in the right direction. AND I will take Brown’s positions on 0care and illegal immigration. Those are BIG wins in my book.

Ok, you are on record as BELIEVING that Mr. Brown is NOT a RINO. We’ll revisit this in about a year FRiend. Also, I am glad he won but I am under no illusion that he will transform into a solid conserative. I would refrain from calling people idiots because their only crime is they call a spade a spade. I have thick skin so flame on. I won’t pee on your RINO parade. IMHO when we celebrate RINO’s it gives the wrong impression. North east check pant “Republicans” got us into this position. I will keep an open mind but expect nothing but disappointment from the new Senator from Yankee Land....

I’ve been calling all morning and the lines are WIDE OPEN which means not enough are calling! So call them, tell them YOU ARE NEXT unless you LISTEN TO US!

I also donated to Scott Brown and am so over the moon this morning. Hopefully this will be the first of many seats changing hands.

You are so utterly clueless, its laughable.

And honey, calling those of us who know history- including recent history with McCain and Romney- one issue voters, is moronic. Wait a second. You might be right. The ONE issue we have is conservatism.

Please explain to me how electing a pro-choice, pro-RomneyCare Republican helps the conservative movement? Are you too dense to realize that for every two steps toward liberalism, and one step back for conservatism is STILL moving toward liberalism?

It won't take long for media types to take this win as a referendum not only on Obama, but also on the 'right-wing' of the GOP. Tell me how many pro-choice, pro-gov't sponsored healthcare 'right-wingers' are out there?

But bless your little heart. You're basking in the afterglow.

Thank you for being rational. Pretty darn scary when the rah-rahs want everyone to drink the koolaid and lose all sense of rationality- and reality.

The reality is this. I am thankful (as I've stated several times already) that Brown may have saved us from ObamaCare.

But I ask you, at what expense to conservatism? Are you comfortable with the masses- including some here on FR- embracing a pro-choice, pro-RomneyCare republican?

We're not embracing him and all his ideas. We are using him, as he is using us. It's a deal, of sorts. It doesn't change us and make us less conservative. It doesn't change the soul. Politics is politics and you cannot play cards that you don't have. Electing the best candidate of all those who are running is acting righteously, even if the candidate is not perfect.

Of course I don't like to see idolization of candidates, and that is happening a BIT here, because the candidate is so attractive. Some are embracing him, or would like to.

Yes,Sooner,I was one of the naysayers. And obviously I was wrong. But remember a couple of things....

1)I'm a lifelong resident of Massachusetts.I follow what's going on and have for years.I feel that I know this state pretty well.OTOH,I've never even set foot in Oklahoma and wouldn't pretend to know anything about the state.Tell us how much *you* know about Massachusetts.

2)I'd bet the clothes on my back that Brown, when he started the campaign, didn't think he had a prayer of winning. In fact,I'd wager that *nobody* who knows this state thought he could win.Brown's having won here is as unexpected as being struck by lightening.

Yes,I was wrong but this event, having occurred in Massachusetts, isn't "a teachable moment'.In most other states that wouldn't be the case. But here,it is.

Yesterday was a fluke.Nobody should assume that they'll ever again see anything like it (in this state) during their lifetime.

" Tell us how much *you* know about Massachusetts. "

Respectfully, I don't accept the premise of your question. I know enough about America and our Constitutional form of government to know that supporting Scott Brown was the right thing to do just as a matter of principle if nothing else. I freely admit that I became more enthusiastic about this as Brown's polling improved.

"In fact,I'd wager that *nobody* who knows this state thought he could win. "

No disrespect my friend, but that's loser thinking. Which terms should I use to express my response to it? Take your pick:

===============

Doubt doesn't get results, faith and courage do.

God doesn't reward doubt or fear; to the contrary these things are meant to be overcome through faith and courage, which he does reward. ================

Scott Brown won.

I don't need to read any further. You're making the same mistake that many others make.A mistake that's easy to make.

Massachusetts is not America! Indiana is.Nebraska is.Georgia is.Oklahoma is.As are many other states/regions. But Massachusetts isn't.I know.I live here.

Then there ain't gonna be no conversation on the matter then, is there?

Doesn't alter the fact that Scott Brown won, and you're still an EEYORE.

I have no problem continuing the conversation.None at all! Why don't we start off with you telling me everything you know about Massachusetts in general and our politics in particular.

Doesn't alter the fact that Scott Brown won..

He did indeed! And what gratifying victory it was!

...and you're still an EEYORE.

Well, sitting where I am,for as long as I've been sitting here,I'd say that when it comes to Massachusetts politics I'm a realist.
