HYDROGEN PEROXIDE INHALATION FOR C.O.P.D. / LUNG ISSUES

HYDROGEN PEROXIDE INHALATION FOR C.O.P.D. / LUNG ISSUES

I have been using assisted oxygen for the past five or six years. Lately I have been getting fed up with it because my health has been slowly deteriorating.

A couple of months ago I bought a 20 MHz Sweep/Function Generator, a Model GB-4000. It is another fantastic machine but as far as helping my shortness of breath. It did some, but just not enough. If I wanted to go outside of the house I still needed to carry oxygen in a tank and be darn sure that I didn't run short, i.e., carry extra tanks everywhere.

I also have a nebulizer, it's a little machine that creates fog from liquids. I tried putting an ounce of 3% Hydrogen Peroxide in it and inhaling it. Not much of a difference. Maybe 10 minutes of relief from the air hose.

Yesterday afternoon I took a small bottle, it previously had lens cleaner in it, and filled it with 3% Hydrogen Peroxide. Then I sprayed the H202 into my mouth as I inhaled, as deeply as I could. Three sprays. I haven't had my air hose on for 45 minutes and I am feeling just fine! At one hour I was tempted to put the air hose back on but instead I gave myself one more spray. The effect is the same as if I had put the hose on.

Here I am at 2 hours and going to spray again. Again, one spray and the effect is the same as if I had put the air hose on.

Folks, I may just be returning my air concentrator to the Rental company in a week or two or just using it for sleeping.

When I think of all the specialists that I have been to in the past 10 years, it is disgusting to think that not a one of them had the answer to my restricted lifestyle. Of course if the General Practitioner, whose office is around the corner had told me to spray H202 into my mouth to solve the problem none of those other specialists would have earned a dime, would they? Quite the sloppy system that we have got going here!

So, if you or someone in your family comes down with a cough, the flu or God forbid, C.O.P.D. I suggest trying some $1 a bottle, 3% Hydrogen Peroxide to cure your ails BEFORE allowing the licensed doctors to drain your wallet.

Also, I strongly suggest reading this entire website http://www.earthclinic.com because there's lots of wonderful reviews from real people on it. There's even a section for pets!

Yup, I have got a hunch that I am no longer going to be known as the old man with the hose in his nose. LOL"

I used the air hose for a couple of short spells during the night and for 10 minutes this morning. As soon as I sat down at my desk, I took the hose off and sprayed my mouth once.

That was two hours ago. I consider this to be a 200% improvement from yesterday morning because I am doing something I haven't done for five years, sat at my desk without using an airhose to assist my breathing. Whatever bug was in my lungs is finally headed for the cemetary.

Good for you! I’m going to remember this.

Hydrogen Peroxide kills E-Coli on fruit too. A whole lot cheaper than veggie wash.

Just curious. Do you take anti-oxidants in large doses. Like blueberry juice? I ask because just yesterday there was an article saying that taking them too much could lower people hydrogen peroxide levels and leave them (especially the elderly) feeling tired and out of breath.

I’m glad you are feeling relief, I know COPD is a serious condition.

However, I’ll just copy here some comments from Yahoo Answers to someone who wanted to inhale HP through the nose.

These comments are not sourced either, but really you need to talk to a doctor before inhaling something especially if you continue with it long term:

“Hydrogen peroxide is only for external use.
Take this for example H2O2 in a biological medium breaks into H2O (water) and O (molecular oxygen). This molecular oxygen is a very powerful oxidizer and only one molecule can initiate a chain of oxidation with release of free radicals throughout the cells. Free radicals damage cell structure, proteins, enzymes and are also responsible for cancer.
This is why H2O2 is used as a local disinfecting agent. The released molecular oxygen kills bacteria and other germs around the wound.”

Also found this:

“Hydrogen peroxide is an oxidizer that destroys loose tissue and it’ll have a field day with the membranes inside your nose and sinuses. It works great on sores on external skin because that’s what it’s for... to cleanse the wound area out. But never put it into your nose, ears, or eyes.”

Please be careful and at least talk to a doctor about this!

I have had a rather extreme history with pneumonia and bronchitis, almost on an annual basis. I have also used a similar approach and have not had a problem in the past two years. One shot every 4 hrs as soon as I feel a cough or tickle in my throat. Taste is nasty but it works very well.

Interesting! I was always getting infections after trimming my toenails & started putting Hydrogen Peroxide on afterwards. It solved the problem. A few years ago I mentioned this to my doctor & her response was that the medical community was no longer recommending putting peroxide directly on the skin. I haven’t stopped. No point in messing with what works. And I haven’t seen any issues as a result.

I had some minor surgery this week on my face and the doctor’s assistant who was cleaning up my face said that it was good to clean up blood but not to use it on a wound as it kills tissue. He recommended alcohol for cleaning the wound.

Interesting - do you dilute it?

IV use of hydrogen peroxide used to be a common practise. There are still a few doctors in this country who use it.

No, I don’t. I do eat lots of hot spices though.

I am currently experimenting with H2O2 in my hot tub. Just the 3% type. Not sure what I think of it yet.

Use FOOD GRADE hydrogen peroxide. The stuff in the brown bottle has stabilizers that will harm you.

I have been using food grade (35%) hydrogen peroxide for 2 years for many things including stopping colds at the first sign of symptoms.

NOTE: You MUST dilute the 35% stuff with water or it will burn you!

This is a simple, cheap killer of bad stuff, and totally ignored by the medical world. I have not fallen ill for nearly 2 years now, with all my coworkers hacking up their lungs around me continuously.

Drinking a small dose of food grade mixed with plenty of water does the trick for me and my family.

Something new that has helped my mom is this thing
called a “lung flute”

Might want to check it out where you got your nebulizer
pump from

I’d be interested in seeing “before and after” arterial blood gases to see if there is any difference in PaO2 and SaO2.

IMO honest to God opinion that was put out by doctors and/or medical researchers who are fully aware of the homeopathic attributes of H2O2 and the fact that it is a low cost item available to everyone.

I now know a couple of people who use H2O2 to stop colds and sore throats by gargling with it. My daughter uses once a week it to brush her teeth.

It should NOT be used in the nostrils. Those membranes are too sensitive for it.

Like you, I am on O2 assist. One medication that really helped is Spiriva from Boeringer/Pfizer. Felt as if a wall had been taken off my chest, and if I miss my daily dose I can feel it. As others noted, H2O2 can do more damage long-term so be cautious in its use. Stay well.

I understand, just please be careful if you haven’t asked your doctor about it yet. Your lungs are sensitive as well, and I could imagine a lot of substances that would kill infection in the lung but might damage the tissue short or long term.

I just dump a cap full into a large bowl of water and run the fruit around in it and let them air dry. Any that don’t have a peel or rind that I will remove, but I do oranges because the kids peel them themselves and I don’t want anything going from fingernails to fruit.

I appreciate the concern but so far today I have sprayed my mouth once in three hours and am not feeling the need to do so. The air concentrator has been turned off but I have a bottle close by if I need air assist.
