Well, on the upside, if they all did commit suicide it would mean they’d no longer be using up oxygen that the sane people of this world need.
Idyllic??
What bugged me about Avatar was that the so-called US Military in the film was portrayed as evil, cold killers for corporate greed. Reality is no other military in the world actually helps free people from evil, tyrannical forces instead. It’s all just fantasy BS anyway with great visual effects.
Sounds to me like they are trying to build their spiritual life on a movie.
They fantasize about communal living in teepees and being in harmony with nature.
As for me, I like living my life guilt free. I’ll stick with my comfortable home with central heating and A/C, running hot and cold water, flush toilets, Fios/wifi, refrigeration, etc...
It has a trickle down effect
re: place called heaven
Amen! And the best thing about it is that you’ll be going there!
DEADBEATS - one word to describe these narcissistic numskulls
It was made clear in the movie that they were paramilitary (hired protection), and not an arm of the US.
They were there because the animals were very dangerous.
The Na’avi were also defending their homeland, but trying to cooperate with the representatives of the corporation. The confrontation was when the corporation decided to blow up the Na’avi’s only home.
As you say, it’s just a story. There are many, just like it. The big attraction was the visuals.
There is nothing new under the sun.
Remember the Beatniks?
LOL!
Why yes, I am the guy who gave the utility knife to the emo kids.
Somewhere that the weather permits. And only for appearance sake.
P.S. The main reason for the communal living thing is the same old reason they always have communal living. Trying to get chicks without any real responsibility.
Might I suggest to them then, the Passion of Christ instead of Avatar.
I vote we get these folks to a double feature of Avatar and Grave of the FIreflies.
You could hand out cyanide capsules as they left.
LOL, sounds like a plan.
(I am a fountain of bad ideas. And I inspire worse ideas.)
Did someone just say the liberal respected “religion” festivus?
It's a gift.
