Sons of Confederate Veterans have a role in modern America

The Sons of Confederate Veterans (S.C.V.) is a fraternal organization composed of male descendents of the men who served in the Confederate Armed Forces during the War for Southern Independence. Their emblems include the controversial Confederate battle flag. Their core responsibility is articulated in a charge given to them by Lt. General Stephen D. Lee which calls on them to defend the heritage, honor, and reputation of the Confederate soldier and the Cause they fought for.

The Cause they fought for was individual liberty, state's rights, the original Constitution and the right to secede. In essence, Confederates fought an aggressive Union which would not allow the states to exercise an accepted right of secession. This right had been exercised by all the original states when they withdrew from the government of the Articles of Confederation, and entered the present day United States of America. Further, the Tenth Amendment reserved all powers not addressed in the Constitution to the States and people respectively. And lastly, the new union was formed as each individual state entered the union.

A northern state.

Do you really want to play this game? Because I can come up with far more pictures of southern segregation than you can northern. By the way, the state in this picture is Montana.

More delusional revisionism from the Master Delusionist, known hypocrite and pathalogical liar.

ROTFLMAO!

Davis supported a limited government, federalism, and an expansionist foreign policy (go west young man).

Which is, of course, why he refused to staff the third branch of government, seized control of the milita from the states, nationalized industries like textile and salt and liquor, instituted an income tax and proposed rates that were confiscatory in nature, seized a percentage of private farm produce without compensation 'for the war effort', forced private ship owners to reserve part of their cargo space without compensation for government shipments 'for the war effort', levied slave labor without compensating the owners 'for the war effort', suspended habeas corpus miles from the battlefield, jailed thousands without charges, all because he was a "limited government federalist". Thomas Jefferson would puke at the idea of being linked with a fraud like Davis.

...a far more interesting and honorable man than the slippery lawyer from Illinois.

As the Southron myth machine would have us believe. The truth is much different. And is, apparently, a foreign concept to the rebel horde.

Better than the last time you tried your hand at it, but you still need to work on the meter. I give it a C-.

“Let’s be honest, it was for the freedom to continue to enslave others and the freedom to take your institution of slavery to every corner of the country that instigated your rebellion.”

I’m always honest. Glad to see you want to start. But you are wrong. The South had NO desire to force slavery in ANY state where it did not exist. Your statement is wrong. Period.

“However an honest comparison of Lincoln’s actions and Davis’ would show that the true tyrant ruled south of the Potomac and not north. Davis abused his constitution and trampled on freedoms and states rights in ways that Lincoln would never have contemplated.”

LOL! The ultimate difference being, even if that were true, that the Confederate states could LEAVE Davis any time. Which makes your whole premise wrong, again.

“And yet you continue to try...” to reason with them. And I admit, it is a failing.

“I could easily ask the same about you. “

But I would be asking from a documented background of your failures, while your attempts to discredit me are pathetic Pee Wee Herman come backs.

You want me to say 'Yes!Yes!' so that you can point your pudgy finger at the screen and shout (to no one in particular) "See!! I told the world in post #66 of this thread that cowboyway 'hates the United States'!!"

Gosh, you are just too clever for me, aren't you? </sarcasm>

The cheap shots that bubba hoe temp has been taking at stand watie, who is not here to defend himself, continues to prove the cowardice and total lack of honor of these yankee piles of buzzard crap.

You're doing a fine job of filling in Watie's slot as the lead foaming-at-the-mouth neo-confederate loon around here. Now you just need to make up some titles for reference books.

Under the Dred Scott decision they had that right regardless of local state laws. And their desire was to retain the right take slavery to any territory they wanted. I should have been more clear.

The ultimate difference being, even if that were true, that the Confederate states could LEAVE Davis any time.

A claim that, of course, can never be proven or disproven. However, considering the way Davis trampled the rights of the states it'd be hard to see him allowing them to leave.

The truth is much different

The truth as you know it is limited to the fuzzy constructs of your own mind with absolutely no basis in reality.

Why don't you give us your unbiased version?

Reality is another concept foreign to the Southron contingent.

Hey, we could go on like this all day but dealing with you three is an exercise in futility. You can have your thread back.

Why don't you give us your unbiased version?

Sure. Several years ago, Ron Wilson, who has a long history of white supremacist activism, and Kirk Lyons, whose background is even more colorfully racist (his wedding was performed by Richard Butler at the Aryan Nations compound in Idaho), succeeded in taking over the leadership of the SCV and turning it into from a heritage-promotion group in a more explicitly political organization with extensive ties to southern nationalist groups like the League of the South. Large numbers of members who opposed this change were labeled "grannies" and were purged from the organization. Membership plummeted by almost half.

Anything you'd like to correct or add?

So the fountain in your picture is, in fact, the one from the Buffalo incident? Is that right?

Yes. Being clear would help tremendously. But why change now?

“However, considering the way Davis trampled the rights of the states it’d be hard to see him allowing them to leave.”

True. If you’re on drugs. So, in your head, you can imagine Southern states fighting EACH OTHER for the right of secession from the Confederacy as they are fighting the U.S. for the right to secede. Hmmm...wonder if the northern states that believed the southern states should be able to secede would leave the Union to join THOSE states? Or, perhaps we could have had FOUR separate countries fighting each other in the RFKATUS.

I realize that you WILL NOT understand what I am about to say, but you just gave everyone else on this thread one hell of a good laugh.

Bugs Bunny in Dixie 1956 (short version). In the full cartoon Disney uses the words >>> War Between the States. Notice the difference in landscape.
