TIME: Tea Party 'Not Big Movement,' Palin Fans 'Un-American'
Fox Nation ^ | 2-9-10

Posted on 02/09/2010 2:04:43 PM PST by Justaham

Sarah Palin and the Tea Party movement “both have far less support in the country at large than a gullible Old Media seems to understand or suggest,” Time magazine senior political analyst Mark Halperin asserted on “The Page” while colleague Joe Klein, on Time’s “Swampland” blog, showed fear of the supposedly impotent coalition as he denigrated her Saturday night convention speech as “anti-intellectual drivel,” scolding as “anti-American” those dumb enough to like her:

Those who celebrate Sarah Palin's lack of knowledge as a form of “authenticity” superior to Barack Obama's gloriously American mongrel ethnicity and self-made intellectuality are representatives of a long-standing American theme – the celebration of sameness, and mediocrity, in a country that has succeeded brilliantly because of its diversity and restlessly eccentric genius. Happily, it has almost always been a losing theme. And, indeed, in the truest sense, it can be called anti-American.

Halperin, political director for ABC News until 2007, appeared on the Sunday edition of ABC’s World News where he insisted Palin and tea partiers are “still not big enough or specific enough to do anything but criticize Obama, criticize the government” and while “that creates excitement,” it's “not a national governing movement.”

Barack Obama's gloriously American mongrel ethnicity and self-made intellectuality...

Is the author a comedian? "Mongrel ethnicity"...is that progressive for mixed race? I'm sure if a conservative uttered such an insipid phrase there would be no end of the accusations of racism.

As for Obama's "self-made intellectuality"...I thought he claimed he went to Columbia and Harvard...they not educating students at those institutions any longer? How about Obama's various mentors...they didn't teach him anything either? Maybe not, he doesn't seem to learn lessons well or quickly. OK, so I'll take his word for it, Obama made his own intellect, the god that he is...just goes to show he still hasn't made anything worth two cents.

Its such a small movement that the MSM spends a lot of time attacking it. lol.

Um-American again?? Gee, Steny Hoyer and Nancy Pelosi said so in a USA Today column last year during the Town Hall meetings.

I guess HUAC is coming back?

I actually WANT them to keep it up.
KEEP IT UP ALL YEAR.
Continue showing yourselves getting more and more desperate,
and more and more people will see right through you and your
hateful snarkiness.
They know they are losing.
This is the best ‘stuff’ they can come up with.
As time goes on, this will STILL be the only stuff they
can come up with, and the lights will slowly dim around their heads, their magazines and TV shows will fold, their faces will redden, both out of embarrassment and muffled
apoplexy, and they’ll silently shuttle themselves to the sideline seat they’ve been quietly earning for years.

I'm not sure that Martha Coakley and the other Dem candidates from the first year of this dangerous Obama era would agree. We'll see if he changes his mind after the PA congressional race or after the November elections.

In terms of profitability...Time is pretty much a 4-star loser. They still sell in a modest way at airports...but I suspect their subscription level is like twenty percent of what it was in the 1980s.

It really is priceless watching the left wing media try to define the Tea Party Movement, trying to make sense of it all, trying to figure out who the leader is — they really just don’t get it.

They liberals are attacking what they perceive as their biggest threat.

Palin.

The entrenched GOP establishment is attacking what they perceive as their biggest threat.

Palin.

Why do they think she is a threat? They think she can take their power away.

I can't recall the last time I read/heard so much dung spewed out in so few words...

...celebrate Sarah Palin's lack of knowledge...

What an arrogant pus ... is this writer...
People see a genuine track record of leadership in Mrs. Palin. Beyond an ability to 'organize communities' - she ran a business, she was a mayor, and a Governor. She shares values that are appreciated by the American people, and unlike the current crop of 'leaders' in Washington, she doesn't talk down to the people like they are chattel whose sole purpose of existence is to provide tax dollars to the state.

...superior to Barack Obama's gloriously American mongrel ethnicity...

What the hell?
People aren't dogs. Why is he referring to anyone as 'mongrels'... Even though he tries to clothe it in the words of 'glorious' - this terminology reflects someone who doesn't look much further than skin deep... We all came off of the Ark. Eight people. Sure, different families and cousins have spread across the world -- but people that marry between distant cousins aren't mongrels. What vileness...

superior to Barack Obama's gloriously American mongrel ethnicity and self-made intellectuality

Yes indeed. Tell me more about "Obama's self-made intellectuality". Why the lock-down (via Executive Order, and MSM malfeasance) on Obama's SATs and College records?

...a country that has succeeded brilliantly because of its diversity and restlessly eccentric genius...

You'll have trouble proving that one... America was founded by Christians who feared and honored the LORD. America was greatly blessed... Ripping the honor of God and Christ out of society to honor "diversity" is going to have its 'blow-back' (as it already has with disregard for Law; celebrating the murder of the defenseless as a 'right' (40M and counting since Roe vs. Wade); degradation of the sanctity of Marriage; and the recompense of error which is meet from the vile practices recognized today as 'honorable'...).

Sarah must be close to target. Here she is a private citizen not currently running for any office and yet you can walk on the FLAK.
