Daily Mail is a UK paper - the writer is probably flashing back to his days playing Warhammer as a teenager. The Orks are one of the major factions in this gaming universe, but are much sillier than Tolkien's orcs.

I think they meant people from Ork. One, called Mork, had a friend called Mindy.
