he believes the 007 agent should be played by a British actor Why did he make those spaghetti westerns? He wasn't Italian.

Good Call by Eastwood. We saw what happened when Kevin Costner played Robin Hood.

"...Clint Eastwood has revealed that he...believes the 007 agent should be played by a British actor." Too bad Kevin Costner didn't feel the same way about the Prince of Thieves.

They we shot in Spain or Italy by Italian directors but it was supposed to be the SW or Mexico border areas. I really do not care for westerns but they were pretty good.

Telly Savalas played Blofeld who was supposed to be Polish.

I dont think that Eastwood has the kind of acting talent to do foreign accents....
...any more than Sean Connery should have portrayed a Chicago/Irish cop in ‘the Untouchables’. the accent was truly awful...though the performance itself was pretty good.

that’s not very nice. Those Roger Moore movie problems were either John Glen’s or Richard Maibaum’s fault.

Ever since I saw “Gran Torino”, I have difficulty seeing him in some of his other roles...:)
Hey, any movie where his eyes bug out and he clenches his teeth while carrying a Garand has got my attention!
As for Bond...I must say, it looks like they have a Russian doing it now. LOL, Daniel Craig has always looked like a Eastern Block guy to me.

I am a big western fan and absolutely hated the spagetti westerns....
...though Eastwood is a great western star...the Unforgiven being superb.

Yup. They were a little quirky but quite good. I also like Clint’s more northern SW films like high plains drifter, etc. One of them had the great Michael Moriarty. Clint’s westerns never had really a good guy like say John Wayne. It also protrayed life in SW back then as hard. I am sure it was very hard living.
