2010's Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, which includes such beauties as Israeli supermodels Bar Refaeli and Esti Ginzburg, includes a photo of a model posing near a World War II-era fighter plane, complete with Nazi swastikas.

The image of model Genevieve Morton leaning against an American warplane sporting WWII 'kill flags' did not reportedly make it to the printed edition of the annual swimsuit issue, but is, however presented in the magazine's popular website.

It's kind of a stretch. It's probably going to take a closer examination of the entire spread to come to the correct scientific and historical conclusion.

When it comes to war porn I look at the aircraft first. Is that a P51 D version? Oh and the girl’s very cute.

Excellent shots at the Palm Springs Air Museum. 2 videos and 30 pictures of Ms. Morton at:

I tried to get that second picture from that link to post, but I couldn't get it to work. They've got some kind of block on it.

SI actually hires models who don't look like they a month without eating. It's a pleasant change from your normal wafer-thin model.

"Is that a P51 D version? "

I think the cowling is wrong for a P51. I'm thinking it might be a Hellcat, but it's just a guess.

At least, she’s sitting on one of the swastikas.

It is the canopy throwing me off. Maybe my eyes were focusing on other things. I’m a guy.

I think you’re right but this needs further study of Bar Refaeli and Esti Ginzburg and WW II planes just to be sure.

"Most likely a P-47 Thunderbolt "

Yes, that does look more like it. The Hellcat looks a little too stubby up front, unlike the model, of course.
