Joe Paterno doesn't need glasses anymore. What will he get rid of next? The rolled-up pants?
The Penn State football coach underwent eye surgery last month and said he no longer needs to wear his iconic, thick-lensed glasses. But Paterno, 83, told the Web site fightonstate.com Thursday that he had auxiliary pair made because he feels awkward without them

I can’t even imagine seeing JoePa without glasses.
My Dad got rid of his “coke bottles” at 75 years old.. It took a while to get used to seeing him without glasses...
Now that he can see more of the field he’ll probabky coach another 15 years.
Modern medicine is amazing. My mom was legally blind without glasses from her teens until she was 70. Then she had cataract surgery and was able to pass the drivers license eye test without glasses.
Same for my Dad and he was 87.
old fashioned, soft spoken, integrity. that’s JoePa.
He’ll be like Clark Kent - we will not even recognize him. ;)
