BOULDER, Colo. (AP) -- A Catholic school in Colorado is kicking out a preschooler because the child's parents are lesbians.
The child will not be allowed to re-enroll next year at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic School. The Denver Archdiocese posted a statement Friday that the parents are "living in open discord with Catholic teaching...."

Perhaps you are right, but some of the same sex couples who have enrolled their children in parochial schools have then tried to inject their political and life style agenda onto the school. I wonder why two women living a life that is not approved by the Church would even want to have their kid in a Catholic school.

Who is being persecuted? I did not see that the school had called for anyone to harm or harass these two adults or the child. Get a grip.

But thats not really the childs fault. Is the mission of the church no longer to save souls.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
I agree. It is the mission of **adults** to be missionaries to this child and his caretakers. This work is solely for **grown-ups** who are solidly rooted in their faith.

First off, for all we know, there could be a lot more to the story. We should consider that. Perhaps the parents of this boy were not agreeable and made threats, etc., in which case the school felt threatened.
I’m just going by the headline, and the bottom-line for me is that our primary purpose is to spread The Good News.
I don’t think this boy’s attendance would lead to proselytizing the other kids. They’ll be just fine.

Which is precisely why the child needs to be exposed to Christian beliefs outside of the home.
Terrible decision by the school.
Wrong. Certainly, it is the business of the Church to save souls, but an elementary school is not the place for experimentation. Each of the kids in the school will be getting exposed to tremendous amounts of anti-Christian influence throughout their lives. This time at school is probably one of the few times they will get reinforced Catholic teaching. Allowing in this child, with his lesbian parents, could benefit that one child, but it provides an even greater risk that the presence of this child and his inevitable spreading of his "mommies'" anti-Christian belief system could actually serve to poison many other kids. If the kids are taught in class that marriage is between one man and one woman, this kid might say later, to the other children, my mommy says that's not true, etc etc. There will not be the school's stance against the two mommies for the kids to look to for reassurance, so the kids start thinking that maybe it's ok after all.

Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For(B) what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or(C) what fellowship has light with darkness? 2 Cor 6:14

I suspect they put the child in the school just so they could make a big deal out of being asked to leave. They get publicity for their cause and for the awful burden of “discrimination” against their perverted lifestyle.

“I dont want my kids going to school with him.”
That is truly sad. Are you that much in fear? Aren’t you raising your children to be compassionate and live like Christ?
Perhaps another reading of Matthew 9:11-12 is needed.

The boy is on track to be a priest... in the Vatican one day!
Oh, that's hilarious. It's even more hilarious because we know that no Protestant churches ever have gay clergy, or instances of ministers engaging in molestation or sexual misconduct. They're perfect. And our public school teachers are even better! Why can't the Catholics learn from their example?

That is taking a big risk with children. It is far more likely that the bad apple will taint the rest of the barrel rather than all the other apples making the bad one good.

We don’t know. We do know that this is a religious, private school which has the right and obligation to make its principles and teachings clear. If there was any question of the parents or child attempting to subvert those teachings and beliefs, the school had an obligation to inform the parents of the possibility of expulsion, and to carry out expulsion if it became necessary.
I applaud them for putting principles over monetary gain.

I think that the “parents” are trying to make a statement and, unfortunately, they are using the child. These “parents” are troublemakers.

If ever there were a child that needed to be at this school it is this one. That poor child.
I know there are many protestant preschools that welcome children from secular homes; probably many Catholic schools also.
I think this Priest is out of bounds.

Good for them (AOD). Maybe the parents should open up a gay school for children of gay parents.
