Two students at the University of Missouri-Columbia were suspended Wednesday after their arrests in a case of cotton balls thrown across the lawn of the campus black-culture center.
Campus police on Tuesday evening arrested the students, one of whom is from the St. Louis area, on suspicion of a felony hate crime. The two were released on bond, and charges were pending.
The incident happened early Friday at the Gaines/Oldham Black Culture Center, near the middle of campus. Nathan Stephens, the center's coordinator, said students were offended because of the 'symbolic violence' that harkened to days of slavery on cotton plantations."

Really as opposed to what? The Black Culture Center?
Racism is feeling or expressing that your race is superior to another (or, that some other race is inferior to yours).
Now while this cottonball event might be distasteful and rude, it clearly does not mean that whites are superior to blacks, nor the other way around.
Next, whites will be arrested for “eating watermelon in a racist manner”.
That’s cruel to the golfers because they would have more difficulty spotting where their balls went.
Your hopes will be shattered.
FELONY hate crime? By definition, a felony is an offense which can carry a penalty of a year in prison or more. A year in prison for symbolic speech? Screw that.
I don’t care if it was racist. The constitution seems to be OK with it the same way it’s with not being racist.

Prolly was some detente betweeen the police and the Panthers. In exchange for promising not to rob or pillage the area, the Panthers would get to save parking spaces.
The only charge should be littering.
Well I must admit that I’m no fan of golf. LOL
It is a very rare occurrence in my experience when a minority is charged with a hate crime.
And since in my experience minorities commit a greater number of crimes of violence against whites there should be a greater number of prosecutions against minorities for hate crime.

I agree. I am just so tired of these mamby pamby responses from whites on all this race crap. Whites have become neutered droids who cower in fear over race. Meanwhile we have Black Liberation Theology in the White House, Black panthers at voting districts, Denver blacks specifically targeting whites and a list a mile long of other ‘race’ incidents not to mention race groups and organization of all kinds,lLike the Black Culture Center for example, yet whites are supposed to run around in circles and get on their knees over cotton balls. We’ve not only lost our country to the Marxist we have lost our sense of self.
It’s beyond ridiculous! This whole thing is absolutely silly, and these super sensitive people need to get over themselves.
