Amazing facts - did you know about Charles Sumner, US Senator, whose strong stand against slavery in the USA resulted in a Congressman from SC beating him over the head with a cane? And that Charles Sumner equated the need to end slavery in America to the deliverance of the children of Israel from their enslavement by the Egyptians? And that Charles Sumner was one of the founders of the Republican Party?
Ping some others and tell somebody today - African Americans need to join the Republican Party TODAY. It is our heritage of ending slavery that they can best align themselves with - not the enslaving “Great Society” party of the LBJ led Democrats.
Pinging you - please ping others who may be interested in this.

Senator Charles Sumner held now Senator Brown’s seat in Massachusetts.

For anyone who is interested in correlating this study of Abolition with a Study in Exodus, culminating in the Passover, feel free to come on over to “Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem” in the “Religion” section of this Forum. (Sorry for the shameless plug! LOL)
Anyway, being from Boston, I grew up steeped in the history of the Abolitionist Movement. The “African-American Meeting House” has been a stop on the Freedom Trail as long as I can remember, as well as the Robert Gould Shaw Memorial.
I went to the Robert Gould Shaw Jr High School, and there were also schools named after Harriet Tubman, Charles Sumner, and Susan B. Anthony and Lucy Stone(Woman's Suffrage)
Tragically, Politics in Boston took a left turn somewhere along the line, and with it, the politics of victimization, grievance, and entitlement!
ALL honest and freedom loving people need to join the Republican Party TODAY!
