My parents are coming from Indiana, to New mexico to visit. In their back yard they have Burning bushes and Golden Privets, they have grown into a hedge row.......could they bring me small pieces as grafts?
I would love to have them for a front windbreak along the fence.
What part of NM? It makes a HUGE difference.
If you look at the maps in the Sunset Western Gardening Book for NM, (NOT the FDA ‘hardiness zones” maps!) you’ll find both will grow ‘anywhere’ except the Zone-1 mountains.
To make it easy...and Sunset does NOT make this easy to find online!...use the link below. The books are now up to about $40, but most libraries should have them. Ebay often has older ones ‘cheap’ and the basics, including the maps, (unless the latest have been redone to take into account “global warming”) are pretty much the same.
