The Elephant In The Corner <Vanity>

President O’Bunga is being allowed to use a sleight-of-hand, and none of his detractors or opponents are calling him on it. I’m not referring to his touting the marvelous benefits of his Health Care reforms while glossing over the real-cash implications. Neither am I referring to the smoke-and-mirrors trash given to the CBO for them to use in determining the years-out financial implications.

The president (if indeed he legally holds that office, which, with a British-Kenyan father it is impossible to do) claims, employing Josef Goebbels’ “kernel of truth” propaganda gambit, that the majority of Americans want many of the items in the proposed legislation. Portability, removing the “pre-existing condition” ban, buying across State lines, all are good ideas which the public logically would embrace.

It is also true that the CBO guesstimated cost is outlandishly pie-in-the-sky even if you accept double-counting Medicaire cuts, and fail to include “the Doctor’s Fix”. None of this addresses the core issue against which the country is willing to go to war if necessary. Even FOX NEWS, for all their ballyhooed aggression in publicizing the less appealing aspects of this nightmare, fail to mention the single biggest reason for never letting this monstrosity become law.

The real reason why this Health Care proposal is being fought so hard for despite the obvious anger it generates amongst a majority of Americans is the layer-upon-layer of big government control over every aspect of our daily lives that this legislation would grant to the government. The communistic Nanny State intrusion into our kitchens, our refrigerators, our cupboards and pantries, our doctors’ offices, and the rights it grants to the government to not only monitor our daily habits, but also to dictate them and penalize us for non-compliance, is staggering.

Panel after panel of non-elected rump-swab appointees, most with no medical background, will be empowered to peer at your shopping lists and inquire about your breakfast, lunch and dinner menus. Bureaucrats who never answer to the voters will be allowed to look at your medical records to determine not if the care you are receiving is effective, rather to tell you if your care is “cost effective.” 15,000 new IRS agents tasked with enforcing penalties on those who refuse to knuckle under to the New Communist Order in America.

And in all of the discussions and debates and reports over the weeks and months since this child of pure evil was conceived by Bukkaki O’Bunga and his Chicago Criminal Communist Cabal, nobody mentions this most crucial, most devastating aspect of what is now within a hair’s-breadth of becoming the Law Of The Land.

Even proposing such a monstrosity is such a total abdication of O’Bunga’s Oath of Office that it rises to the level of a high criminal act deserving of prosecution and jail time, not to mention Impeachment. Any Representative or Senator who isn’t mentioning, every time he or she speaks, all of what is written above here is complicit in the cover-up. All are part of the thus-far successful attempt to make sure that nobody mentions the elephant in the corner. May it crush them all with the weight of it’s evil.

We need to replace every last scoundrel who has a good, Tea Partyesque opponent this coming November, because NONE of the bastards are mentioning this. That is unacceptable. That is treason.

The only thing you’re wrong about is that nobody’s mentioned this. This has been the primary ongoing objection of many, if not most, conservative broadcasters — including Rush himself.

This has been mentioned, quite often, here and elsewhere.

Should be ... "communistic Nancy State", in my mind.

I should have been more specific. Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh, Michael Savage and other right-wing radio people have been all over this. Also, Americans are generally aware of it, and we discuss it all the time here on FreeRepublic.

Where we do not hear it is on the television news, or from our elected representatives. It is this ignoring of it that gives O'Bunga his free pass.

Most of America does not watch Beck or listen to Limbaugh. If they did, those audiences would be in the hundreds-of-millions, and they are not. Most America get their news at 5-6:00PM and 11:00PM. It goes unmentioned.

When only those easily and often labeled "extremist idealogues" and "partisan nutjobs" are where you can hear these things mentioned, most Americans never hear them mentioned. And that's the only reason why there won't be 20-million people marching on D.C. this Sunday. And that's a crime.

Should have read:

"And in all of the televised discussions and debates and reports over the weeks and months..."

Good point, my error.

I’ll vote for anyone who promises to repeal anything the Os manage to pass.

I’m in a throw-them-all-out mood, but the second-worst thing that could happen, after this congresses passes this stuff, would be for the supposed tea-party Repubs to come in and start studying endlessly which parts of Os agenda they want to modify.

I don’t want any of it modified, I want it repealed. None of it is constitutional. It needs to be repudiated and trashcanned completely.

Precisely. It, and anyone who doesn't fight it tooth-and-nail, are GONE come November.

This is the final straw. If they pass this, all bets are off...
