Well, here goes. I really resent the term, but I use it because its recognized and accepted.
Im gay.
From some seventy years of personal experience, I can tell you that theres not much gay about being homosexual. For the first twenty years of my life, I had to live in the shadows, in a culture that was at least outwardly totally hostile to any hint of that variation of life-style. At no time did I choose to adopt any protective coloration, though; my cultivation of an abundant beard was not at all a deception, but part of my costume as a conjuror.
Gradually, the general attitude that Id perceived around me began to change, and presently I find that there has emerged a distinctly healthy acceptance of different social styles of living except, of course, in cultures that live in constant and abject fear of divine retribution for infractions found in the various Holy Books In another two decades, Im confident that young people will find themselves in a vastly improved atmosphere of acceptance.
Before publishing this statement, I chose to privately notify a number of my closest friends and colleagues none of whom, Im sure, have been at all surprised at this coming out. Im prepared to receive the inevitable barrage of jeers and insults from the grubbies out there who will jump to their keyboards in glee to notify others of their kind about this statement, which to them will be yet further proof of the perfidy of the rationalist mode of life that I have chosen. Those titters of joy will be unheard over the murmur of acceptance that I confidently expect from my friends.
This declaration of mine was prompted just last week by seeing an excellent film starring Sean Penn that told the story of politician Harvey Milk, the first openly gay man to be elected to public office in California. Im in excellent company: Barney Frank, Oscar Wilde, Stephen Fry, Ellen DeGeneres, Rachel Maddow, are just a few of those who were in my thoughts as I pressed the key that placed this on Swift and before the whole world
I should apologize for having used Swift as the venue to publish this note, an item that is hardly the focus of what we promote and publish here, but I chose the single most public asset I have to make this statement. Its from here that I have attacked irrationality, stupidity, and irresponsibility, and it is my broadest platform. Here is where I have chosen to stand and fight.
And I think that I have already won this battle by simply publishing this statement.
Who cares....
I’m not surprised - I met this miserable POS when I was in first grade and he pulled me on stage as part of his show and had people laughing at me. Couldn’t do anything about it at this age but if he was on fire I wouldn’t piss on him.
I am a fan of Randi’s for his skepticism. As for him coming out, whatever, doesn’t change a thing for me.
Exactly, they are getting screwed by the Dems on taxes. Most of them make lots of bucks and have NO exemptions. Single 0 is a bad, bad thing regarding taxes withheld.
Being a filthy pervert prob does has its baggage.
Glad he feels better about himself.
>> I really resent the term... gay... I can tell you that theres not much gay about being homosexual.
I completely understand, “Randi”.
Allow me to suggest a different, light-hearted, but oh-so-descriptive moniker: FUDGEPACKER.
Well duh. Randi not Randy. Gee, who woulda thunk it?
i thought this was about randi rhodes
Oh no. Not another one who somehow thinks that their sexual orientation matters a damn to the rest of the world.
What most gays don’t realize is that most people just don’t care.
I sure don’t. I’d rather not know, just as I’d rather not know the sexual proclivities of the quiet man and his sweet wife who live next door.
Two women live together across the street from me. They’re very nice. They seem very happy. They’re great neighbors. I like them. I suppose they might be gay but I don’t care!
Discretion. I miss discretion.

Well there’s a shock. Another hater of faith in God is gay.
I had my suspicions when he first premiered his "disappearing weiner" trick....
So? Does anyone really care? If a man is homosexual, but not making a nuisance out of himself in public or predating on young boys, is it anyone’s business? I don’t think it is. I don’t want to know the private details of heterosexuals’ lives, either. The rest of us should care only if children are being hurt or someone is being physically abused...otherwise, private life is just that.
Don’t tell Randi - no one asked
While this may be hard for you to believe, not everyone is fascinated by your personal sexuality or by homosexuality in general. In fact, almost any other subject would be more interesting.
A degenerate measures everything in life by the acceptance or rejection of his degeneracy. That is what makes them freaks ... but freaks are cool nowadays, don’tchaknow. Our kids have not been raised be creeped off by degeneracy, so they are prey for the degenerates.
So just what is it this fag does?
The usual gay subtext is "I'm such a BAD boy (or girl) -- isn't it THRILLING!!!"
To which the answer is simple: Narcissism is not thrilling except to the narcissist. It is tiresome.
