Our brave souls before us took up arms and defended what they thought was right. Many died for what they thought was right. We don't have enough of those type in this country now to organize and win a battle for the good of man. Therefore the only thing I can do now until a rebellion is organized is stop paying taxes. Starting tomorrow I will instruct my company to put me on contract status and I will pay my own taxes. Of course that means I will no longer pay taxes and I will take my chances and go to jail if I have to. We will be in a nanny state any way so why not let Obama take care of me at that point. I will fight the good fight until they find me.

Better you should say, “I take my chances, and I will go to jail.”, because that is what happens to tax evaders. Honestly, I wish you no ill will (in fact quite the opposite). But tax evasion, if that is what you are suggesting, is just going to get you into a heap of trouble. Personally, I have known a number of folks that have tried this, and most have ended up in Leavenworth. The best you can hope for when that happens is to have south facing windows. It’s cheerier that way because you get some sun.
Of course, perhaps it’s safer to wait out the coming civil unpleasantness from within a cell. I’d prefer to be a bit more pro-active re. the tasks that are facing us, but to each his/her own. Of course in paraphrasing Butterfly McQueen, “What gentlemen says and what they does is two different things”. I can manage you saying this, but if you actually intend to do it.... Well, then I have to be able to say, “I told you so” when you reap the whirlwind.
Just hopin’ you don’t actually go through with what you are threatening, ‘cause I don’t wish no misfortune on no one!
Or file for a 6-month extension next April. Have heard some folks contemplating that as well — maximize deductions, and file for an extension next April (2011).

I may be operating out of pure disgust and anger right now but this is how I really feel. Good advice comes and seeps in tomorrow when I have had a chance to calm down a bit. I will take your advice into consideration when I read all these responses tomorrow. Thank you.

I’m supposed to be a man that believes in the Lord and shouldn’t let things like this bother me. I am still human (and American) and have never fully understood what the Bible was telling us. I feel that the Lord is letting us have it (man as a whole) and the time has come for punishment. I’m cool with that because we as a whole have turned our backs on Him and we need to reverse course (which we will do because how bad things become).

Not a good plan, as someone said max 401K, reduce spending as much as you possibly can, work to elect conservatives.
If the government is broke, they won’t be able to sustain prisons. Then they will either have forced labor camps or execute dissidents. Same as other countries with this kind of government. And since the government won’t have the resources to investigate everyone, anyone can turn anyone else in for favors. Just like the old Soviet Union. We have a monster now,and even if you do abide by all the laws,you are still going to suffer. And our families will suffer. It is time to stand and be counted
Mine too. There are a lot of us out there that are totally repulsed by abortion. It is murder, it is sin and it is NOT right for our government to force us to participate in murder. We are being forced to choose between God’s law and man’s law. If we break man’s law we go to jail. If we break God’s law.... we don’t want to break God’s law. So, what is a God fearing defender of life to do. Maybe a class action suit against the gov?
