Ok, I have thought that ever since the whole debacle of the Obama care crap, what sort of reform that could be pushed through that would slip past the liberals but help cut money on social programs. Well I thought about it the other night when they were doing a story on the "replacement rate" when concerning demographics.
My Solution: "Replacement Rate Based Welfare Benefits"
The Logic behind this simply goes like this: The government seems to be looking out for Number One these days and that means the Government in general. Would it not be "progressive" that the government not fund above what is beyond it's own self interests. They want another generation of taxpayers to heap the burden upon, but if too many of those people in the next generation are dependent then the whole system collapses. So why not appeal to the social engineering part of the "Progressive" or "Possessive", well, hunk of Pot Riddled Grey Matter that used to pass for a Brain. They seem to love their hero Mao's One Child per family policy. Why not get them to cut off the welfare programs at a similar threshold. Maybe have it set to the "replacement Rate" which for the U.S. I think is set at 2.25.
Here is how it would work: You the taxpayer would only be liable for 2.25 children per welfare mom. If she has two kids she gets what she would normally make. If she gets knocked up a third time by her baby daddy, her Uncle Sam would only pay 25% of what they would pay for each of the first two children. This would apply to any funds going to immigrants, illegal immigrants, white trash trailer park mammas, etc... for supporting children.
Why could this work?:
Because the Liberals love to whine and bellyache about population control and dwindling resources. They love to whine about such things but have remained silent about the abuses going on in the welfare program. This is a clever way to hold their own feet to the fire they created during the "Not-so Great Society". And the best part is if they continue to do nothing about actually fixing the social problems it creates we can keep dropping that rate down to 2x or even 1x in the future.
This is something I like to call using their own policies to destroy them.
