I think so too. It is bery difficult to go out in weather that is below 0 and have fun. Sledding and skiing yes, but that is somewhat limited.
You can do most sports year round in Houston because the hotter it gets the less clothing you wear. Cold weather can kill you.

This thread is worthless without pics.

Well, Anna Nicole Smith no longer lives in Houston.
It’s just down the road from where Ken Lay used to live.
I’m guessing that the residents are younger than 40. Guessing. It’s a new building. Some of the other new skyrises in town have taken to selling access to the pools for “commoners”.

We (Houstonians) spend a lot of time outside, in all seasons. And the gyms are always crowded. I see more overweight people in the midwest than I do in Houston.

Hmmm. I live in the fittest city in the nation according to the same magazine. I have dumbbells, jog, and hoist a few cold ones every night for good measure. It's too damned cold to go nekkid though. Average last frost is May 15th. After that, the temperature shoots to 110 and stays that way until September, and at this altitude, you'll get second degree sunburn in about 2.7 minutes nude. Not worth it.
1.) Salt Lake City, UT
- Approximately 29 percent of Salt Lake City residents exercise with dumbbells. That's 123 percent more than average and the highest rate in our survey.
- A whopping 32.8 percent of Salt Lake City residents run or jog highest in our survey.
- Residents of Salt Lake City are 363 percent more likely than average to play racquetball, the highest rate in our survey.
source.

In the local Palm Springs news the past couple of days, there's been a bit of a dustup..........one of the many (over a dozen over there) gay-oriented nekkid motel/hotel places is slated to have an assisted living home built next door - there's a bit of concern what the oldsters might end up seeing around the pool area.

Ahem...don't exaggerate; SLC averages 5 days over 100 per year, and your record is 107. Google is our mutual friend!
Not trying to be critical, but the way you wrote that, SLC would beat out our Coachella Valley for summer temps...and that ain't ever happening!

I have to laugh at the spring breakers that come to the beach and go home looking like lobsters. It’s not even hot yet! LOL
Wouldn’t work very well down here, you could have roasted parts that would ruin the fun.

Houston summers are hot humid and long, they last from mid May until mid October, but the rest of the years is fabulous. You never hear about our delightful winters fabulous springs and perfect falls, except for an occasional hurricane. But promise you won’t tell anyone this because we are so over run with folks from other parts of the country that we don’t need anymore transplants.
