There’s a difference with lawyers. Lawyers also get to choose their pro-bono work and, for a lot of them, it helps satisfy their political goals.

Also, lawyers are able to get (too) rich off of the legal system in which we allowed them to operate. To force a maximum salary of $10/hour on lawyers would not violate free-market principles and would, indeed, result in massive economic growth.
