Obviously we don't get our old body in heaven. Though Jesus (as well as his blessed mother, Mary) was assumed bodily into paradise he was not immediately recognized when he returned to earth. We become spiritual beings in the afterlife; knowing one another by holy characteristics rather than by physical ones.

But we get new bodies at the end of the age though.

The Bible says we will have a bodily Resurrection. So yes, we will have a body.

If a person is worrying about how they will look or feel or what age they will be, they are missing the point entirely

I think we get our bodies back when we die after we get to heaven that is; however not the sinful one, but a new one that looks similar; I surely don't know the details :)...

Will we have our bodies in heaven?>>>>>>>>>>>>

No.

Its a different realm. It is comprised of energy forms. The heaven principle can manifest here on earth which exists in the realm of form.It manifests through energy. Light , heat ,music, electricity, etc. rarely does it manifest through physical form , but it can do that as well through a physical form which can accomodate that energy.Thats how sainthood happens. Its that kind of form which can exist in the realm of form AND the realm of energy simultaneously. Rare but possible

Love is a kind of energy. It can act as a container to take you into that realm of energy, or what is known as "heaven".That realm has many names in many religions. Nothing else can be such a container, because every thing else is subject to the law of impermanance, except love.It exists as a diamond, it cannot be scratched, ,stained or degraded. It cannot be effected by impermenance.

It is your job to have such a container before you die. Some call it an empowered soul. Some call it bodhicitta. Some call it the "Compassionate heart of Christ". Whatever you call it , it amounts to the same thing. There are many different religious paths to accomplishing that container. Prayer is one, acts of grace another, and meditation still another.

I am very happy to have this precious opportunity as a human being.

"he was not immediately recognized when he returned to earth. "

I read that as God intentionally kept them from recognizing him. Not that his appearance wasn't recognizable.

"Luk 24:16 (KJ) But their eyes were holden that they should not know him. "

Luk 24:16(NIV) but they were kept from recognizing him.

I want to leave this broken body of mine behind. Kinda like the Edgar suit in Men In Black.

(from the article) "suicide bombers in the Middle East fantasize about the sexual ministrations of 72 dark-eyed virgins. In all these visions, embodiment is the crux of the matter..."

Why would there be a need for sex in paradise?

I believe we maintain our earthly body image in heaven.

An interesting side note to this discussion is that whenever a member of our family dreams of an elderly departed loved one, we ask the other "how did he/she look"?

In every single instance, we dream of that person looking as they did when they were about 35 or so.

I.E, our Dad, who was in his 90's and partially paralyed from a stroke appears to us looking young and healthy again.

AND he is always wearing the same thing in our dreams of him to us.

FWIW
