So basically it’s a tablet that runs winders? I’m not too overly fond of winders in general ( I run Linux on desk and laptop). But I can’t see how running windows, with the basic winders interface on a tablet as being all that great. And I can why you’d need to use a stylus.

> Steve says you dont need to multitask.
You also don’t need to print, scan, or have pen-input either.
Earlier tablet PC’s had all these. The iPad seems like more of a step back than anything.
LOL...from HP’s website, no less.
HP doesn’t even have Steve Jobs to throw a reality distortion field around prospective buyers!
At least we get to get out of the store and home before the reality distortion field begins to wear off...:)
I’m not sure what OS it uses. HP does have their own version of Linux they use for netbooks though.
It’s a mockup. They got a good look at the Apple product and cobbled together something to throw on a YouTube video, to defer the buying decision. The mockup does look nice, very Apple-like.
I WANT ONE!!
I got mine on Saturday, after standing in line for over 3 hours, and it has exceeded my expectations. I really didn’t understand the iPad, until using it the past couple of days.
Steve is right. This is a fantastic USB device, not an iPhone, and not a “small” laptop. If you haven’t been able to play with one, hooked up to and synced with your computer, and thought about how you could use it, you can’t understand it.
I absolutely love mine. I have a camera and an iPhone. I have a MacBook Pro.
This is not designed to replace any of the above. It is different.
Nope, no phone....
Most tablets are running a version of winders. But as long as you’re using an os, or more specifically a GUI, designed for a mouse, I don’t see it offering the same kind of user experience that one designed for multitoutch gives you.
Let me try a car analogy here.
A Windows-based tablet PC is like a common car. You can drive it anywhere, carry whatever you can cram into it, and you can also get into an accident if you are not careful.
The iPad is like a city bus. It goes only where it goes, and nowhere else. You can carry only what the driver allows you to carry, and there is a fee whenever you need to carry something new. There are hardly any controls for you to worry about, and they don't do anything important anyway. Most trips end where they started. But it's pretty safe.
If it doesnt have a USB connection, how does it synch or get info from your desktop/laptop? Is it the same type of connection that the iPod has?
I hate HP. Worst tech and customer service.
Kids these days.
Chipworks (www.chipworks.com) has had a snuffle under the bonnet and found that basically the iPad is just a large iPod and has about as much in common with a computer as a packet of peanuts has with the empire state building.

Bluetooth?
But I won’t be cool unless I buy an iPad! /s
You are arguing with people who are using Apple as a proxy for Obama, the 60's counterculture, liberals, illegal aliens, and everything else they don't like about America in 2010. So listing facts is a waste of time. :)
