Yep, with 64K of RAM... and a 300 baud plug-in modem- I was uptown! First time I read "host is online" gave me chills.

At that time, a trash 80 was state of the art of personal computers. I used one to first get online to a local dialup BBS in 1978. Used a 100-150 baud acoustic modem. On long distance! The excitement of reading all those messages (in sloooow scrolling text) and the nervous self consciousness typing in the first reply was overpowering.

Used that POS computer to run the payroll for a small company for several years, though. And I still have that original machine somewhere... along with a later original Osbourne and a luggable Compaq. Right next to the dinky 8” Motorola b&w TV that we watched the first televised election night on when Eisenhower won.
