A rain check instead of tax refund?
Did you file electronically?
Are all Freepers having the same problem?? :-)
Nope..sent it in by regular mail.
Don’t know, but the state was a lot faster than the Feds.

Maybe its ‘cause you didn’t buy Health insurance?
Did mine beginning of Feb, sent it in electronically, received my refund...it now lives under my mattress.
filed electronically in feb and got back in about 7 days....
mailing it in always takes longer...and the longer you wait the more back log there is...
I did the same I had a feeling this was going to start happening so I went early.
filed in Feb got my 5 days later...cashed it right away.
yours too?
Sent in on Feb 1 and received Mar 4....it was delayed because of Line 63 - Pay to Work and Retired Federal Employee Credit - don’t ask....I have no idea what that was about but got an additional $400 over what I thought I was getting back. My brother got the same letter and he’s getting an additional $500. I’m retired federal employee; he’s federal employee but not yet retired. My dad called his tax person because according to my letter, you got $400 for single filing and $800 for married. My dad’s retired military and federal employee; my mother’s retired federal employee. His tax person said “did you and you wife get the $250 check from SS” and when dad said yes, the response? “Well Obama screwed you out of $300” - my dad is furious!
Accountant filed electronically and refund took 10 days.
Whew..I was just a little concerned. Glad to hear others received theirs in a timely manner.
Got ours in 2 weeks, and even got the state (New York) refund yesterday. Wouldn’t be surprised if that one bounces though.
It is important now that you OWE them tax at the end of the year. Just not too much. ;)
Actually, I pay estimated taxes every quarter so even if I ask for it back (in a few weeks), I'll just have to pay that much more on my April 15 estimated payment. :-)
The lady that did our taxes this year said they were purposely taking a long time to process refunds for people who mailed in so they can encourage people to file electronically in the future.
Don’t know how much truth there is to that, but I can believe it.
If you’re getting a refund you screwed up.
