On April 4 at approximately 5 p.m., four juvenile males were walking on the roadway in the 900 block of Hilendale Way in Prince Frederick, when a German Shepherd and a yellow Labrador left their property and attacked one of the boys, an 11-year-old. The German Shepherd bit him on the right butt cheek causing deep puncture wounds. The yellow Lab bit him on the back of his left leg causing wounds. Both dogs dragged the boy out of his shoes and into the yard.
One of the boys ran for help while another tried to stop the attack by hitting the dogs with a stick. Once the dogs released, they ran home. The victim was transported to Calvert Memorial Hospital for treatment.
Due to the fact that the bite was unprovoked, both dogs will be placed on the Calvert County Dangerous Animal List as outlined in the County Animal Control Ordinance.

Four “juvenile males” — probably teasing the poor animals and got what they deserved.
You know, most people would have no idea of where this happened. I noticed Calvert County and the word “bay” and I am guessing Maryland.
But why should any guess? Write it out.
Although kids can be very cruel to pets, there is no reason to believe that is what happened here. Just because the dogs involved weren’t pit bulls doesn’t mean they were justified in attacking, even if they were being harrassed, and the fact of the matter is that they wouldn’t have been put in a situation like that if their owners were responsibly containing them.
Jeez, you are simply as biased as they come, aren’t you? Are you saying it’s ok for THESE dogs to attack someone if they’re being annoyed by them?
I believe the city is called “Prince Frederick”, and it is in Maryland.
The rules say I must excerpt, so I look for the important details. If you would like to know more, I would recommend clicking on the link.
Yesterday, I had a similar thing happen on another news story. Unfortunately, it took 4 clicks (4 links) to find out where the story took place. It’s a pretty common occurrence so my vent isn’t directed at you, but it’s frustrating.
“right butt cheek?” That’s journalism nowadays?????
I was just riding my bike down the street at age 10. Never teased a dog in my life. One decided to chase me, I went faster, chase, chase, finally bit me on the butt.
Didn’t make the paper, though.
Anyway, unprovoked dogs bite too.
It has to be an exceedingly interesting article for me to click on. You see, I have dial up and sometimes one clicks on and then grows old waiting, waiting...
