While the teeing-off of Tiger Woods at 1.42pm might be the big event of the day, 16-year-old Manassero will get his moment in the spotlight when he gets started alongside Mike Weir and Lee Westwood at 9:40am

With his childhood dream now becoming a reality, the 2009 British amateur champion, who will make his professional debut at the Italian Open next month, said: "I'm very honoured, of course."

This is the kid that played for two days with Tom Watson at The British Open. He played exceptionally well there last when he had just turned 16. The kid is amazing. Mature, humble, well spoken, well mannered, composed.

Yeah right. The old man was already getting payola as a amateur which is a violation. Eldrick did not play at The British Open and finish a few shots back when he had just turned 16. Tiger did not make the cut at The British Open last year. He also never made the cut at The Masters at 16 like this kid.

Right, the bigger story is that he made the cut. Amazing!

This kid has a grand future! He is exceptional under pressure and is sure to be a major factor in upcoming majors for years to come... Hope he does not turn out to be another Tiger Woods though...
