A STORM SYSTEM WHICH ORIGINATED IN THE GULF OF ALASKA WILL MOVE THROUGH EXTREME SOUTHWESTERN CALIFORNIA LATE TONIGHT AND MONDAY. THIS WILL BRING A PERIOD OF RAIN TO THE REGION AND STRONG GUSTY WINDS IN SOME AREAS. SNOW AND FOG WILL BE EXPECTED IN THE HIGHER MOUNTAINS. UNSEASONABLY COOL WEATHER WILL OCCUR IN ALL AREAS.
RAINFALL AMOUNTS WILL RANGE FROM ONE-HALF TO ONE INCH WEST OF THE MOUNTAINS WITH ONE TO TWO INCHES ON THE SOUTH AND WEST FACING MOUNTAIN SLOPES. LOCAL AMOUNTS COULD EXCEED TWO INCHES ON THE SOUTH SLOPES OF THE SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY MOUNTAINS.

It’s been cold and gloomy in the OC all day.
Sorry.....we will try to be a tad more gentle next time. I have family in Arrroyo Grande (midcoast), Santa Barbara area, Rancho Cucamonga and several surrounding cities, Los Angeles, and San Bernardino.
Stay safe everyone.....hope those that need the water are able to capture it.
Tell them they should let you out more often and follow you—y’all could have great adventures together! LOL.

The National Weather Service in Los Angeles/Oxnard has issued a * Flash Flood Watch for the station and Morris burn areas in Los Angeles County. * From midnight PDT tonight through 6 am PDT Monday * rainfall rates with a cold front moving south over the area will approach or exceed 0.50 inch per hour. These rainfall rates will peak at thresholds established by the USGS for flash flooding and debris flows. * Flash flooding and debris flows will be a particular threat in and below the station and Morris burn areas. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation. Residents in or below the recently burned areas are urged to take the steps necessary to protect their property. Persons in the watch area should remain alert and follow the directions of emergency preparedness officials. |
