OK, I heard this on the late rebroadcast of Laura Ingraham here in Dallas on WBAP. Details I commented on were not in the article I found linked from her site. FLOTUS is doing some "bring your kids to work day" photo op. Lots of questions about the White House, and the dog, and other drivel.
One caught my ear, some kid asked what kind of music she listens to. She said "all kinds" and then listed Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, EW&F, Rhianna, Usher, Beyonce, heavy into the Beyonce apparently. Does anyone else see a pattern here?
What a load. "All kinds of music" is not on her iPod. What a fraud.
Stanky cause sHe has BO, and Moose for the obvious reasons.
Oh, you are right on. I wasn’t trying to call her a racist, I just think her music is a pretty narrow slice of “all music.”
I think if she had an ounce of nuts she would have thrown Tina in there. Not a black thing or a white thing, but she needs to widen her horizons musically.
Your comments are all correct, IMHO.
Obama failed to qualify for POTUS so then how can Michelle be FLATUS?
Agreed. She’s not exactly listening to a broad range of music, that’s for sure... lol.
I guess I missed one of the most obvious references that could be made.
“We’re on a road to nowhere ...”
Oops, I see now. It was another FReeper who’d made the comment about racism. Sorry about that.
She likes Gangsta Rap. The kind about killing cops and rapin’ women.
That and the Call to Payer at the local Mosque
“Obama failed to qualify for POTUS so then how can Michelle be FLATUS?”
You’re right, of course. Let’s just refer to them as POTUS and his FLATULENCE.
I own a grand total of 6 cds. "The Best of Talking Heads" is one of them.
She likes both kinds of music: rhythm AND blues.
Reminds me of the Bob’s Country Bunker scene in Blues Brothers. LOL
No worries, mate.
I still think that woman needs to branch out from the pop carp. There is a world of music out there she can only imagine, apparently.
We should put together a play list for Ms. Obama. I think she needs to listen to some Blue Oyster Cult, follow that with some Johnny Cash, and then throw in some Robert Earl Keen just for the laughs.
Dang, I’ll all white guys again. Michelle, load some Santana on your iPod. There’s “people of color” in his band. No, wait, I got it: Bob Marley. Yeah, go get some “Exodus” or maybe “Chant down Babylon.” That should put her head right.
Oh, now you are on my turf.
Elwood: It’s 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it’s dark, and we’re wearing sunglasses.
Jake: Hit it.
All kinds of music: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UPI1nAqkpLQ
Real music is to Michael Jackson's recordings as George Washington is to...Michael Jackson.
We’ve got both kinds of music at Bobs Country Bunker ,, Country AND Western http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5cs_es5DR8U
Ques-ce c’est?
I was listening to Wagner and Grieg, some Bach and Beethoven on my way home from work today. I’m getting old I guess.
Good to see you’re OK. I heard you were fragged in Vietnam.
OK man, you are being a snob now. I have to respect some of MJ’s stuff. “Thriller” was pretty darned good, the whole album.
Too bad he turned from being an attractive young black man into an ugly old white woman. The guy was a weirdo, but he did put some memorable pop stuff out. I don’t like pop either, but you can’t just toss it in the garbage.
I’m not much on classical. Unless it is on guitar, there’s some Bach for ya. Segovia maybe. But I do respect each of the guys you named. They were in Lynyrd Skynyrd, right?
Kidding, kidding. I never got into Miles or Coltrane all that much, lot’s of people do, I’m more into contemporary stuff. But I respect your opinion. Give me Ray Charles or Louis Armstrong. I grew up with that music so it is easier for me to relate to. Heck, I respect opera, to a certain extent. Don’t own any, but Domingo or Pavarotti or some of the other stars there are hard to dis. Them boys can wail.
I even like some Tejano and Conjunto music. Again, don’t own any, but it is sound from the heart.
Anything but Brittney or Babs and we are cool. Or rap, I hate rap and hip-hop. There was a guy called YZ back in the 80s, he was OK I guess. I liked that song “Master Plan.” Otherwise, the only thing rap is missing is the “C” that belongs at the first of that word, IMHO.
Wagner wrote some wicked stuff. I’m no expert, but there is some music for the ages in there.
Beethoven, I don’t know. It always sounded tedious to me.
Like they say, taste is in the mouth for a lot of us.
