Munchausen syndrome by proxy (MSP) is a mental illness in which a person acts as if an individual he or she is "caring for" has a physical or mental illness when the person is not really sick.

People with MSP have an inner need for the other person to be seen as ill or injured. People with MSP are even willing to have the patient undergo painful or risky tests and operations in order to get the sympathy and special attention given to people who are truly ill and their families. Factitious disorders are considered mental illnesses because they are associated with severe emotional difficulties.

Diagnosing MSP is very difficult because of the dishonesty that is involved.

Successful treatment of people with MSP is difficult because those with the disorder often deny there is a problem. In addition, treatment success is dependent on the person telling the truth, and people with MSP tend to be such accomplished liars that they begin to have trouble telling fact from fiction.

There is no known way to prevent this disorder. However, it might be helpful to begin treatment in people as soon as they begin to have symptoms.

These same people are setting themselves up with nest eggs that will preclude them from experiencing what average citizens will be left to financially endure. This is all being done at taxpayer expense and with the support of the mindless democrat voters. A revolt needs to take place against these thieves and their illegally gained money. JMO!

I think this may explain the behavior of many Democrat voters. There’s always a “crisis” that requires government action. The “environmental movement” and especially the global warming con are the examples par excellence. With these two “crises” they can target children and keep beating them over the head with the rest of their lives.

I don’t think their behavior is akin to a disease or mental defect. I believe it is planned and deliberate. Greed for power and money drives them to manipulate the emotions of their followers, who are continually told that their political masters are saving them from the evil conservatives.
