Its no secret that we, here, at DefenseReview are VERY BIG Glock pistol proponents. For us, when it comes to pistols, its pretty much either Glock (9mm Parabellum a.k.a. 9×19mm NATO) or 1911 (9mm, 40 S&W, and .45 ACP) pistols when it comes to carry and competition applications. In fact, for tactical use, our first choice is a Glock 19 (G19), Glock 17 (G17), or Glock 34 (G34), depending on the mission-specific requirements/parameters, and our second choice is a custom single-stack or double-stack/hi-cap 1911 pistol built by pistolsmith Bob Marvel of Bob Marvel Guns (BMG) / Marvel Custom Pistols (MCP) (We should note that we also like the HK P7M13 and P7M8 squeeze-cocker pistols with quality jacketed factory ammo (115gr or higher), but the P7M13 is relatively heavy compared to the G19, and it gets hot pretty quickly under rapid fire at fairly low round count.).
So, being the Glock fans we are, we really enjoyed getting to view and handle Lone Wolfs new aftermarket 1911-style polymer grip frame for the Glock 17/22 (G17/22) pistolswhich can also be applied to the Glock 24 (G24) and Glock 34/35 (G34/35) pistolsat the tail end of SHOT Show 2010. It features a 1911-style and angled grip, extended beavertail tang, removable/replaceable/modular backstrap for different hand shapes and sizes, and Mil-Std-1913 dust cover rail system for mounting tactical white light and laser modules. The beavertail assists with recoil management/muzzle rise reduction and eliminates slide bite for people who utilize a high griplike myself, for instance. I get bitten by the (Glock) slide all the time.
Anyway, the product looked and felt great in the hand. Its a particularly great idea for 1911 owners/shooters who want grip angle consistency between their 1911s and Glocks,

That’s a lot more Glock-y than it is like a 1911. Oh, and...eww!
"For us, when it comes to pistols, its pretty much either Glock (9mm Parabellum a.k.a. 9×19mm NATO) or 1911 (9mm, 40 S&W, and .45 ACP)..."
What? I'm not against 9mm in general, but who in their right mind would make or buy a 1911 in 9mm? That's a EURO caliber!
Nah. They all have this in a fo-tay:
Ugliest handgun ever devised. The only way i know it could be uglier is if they nickel plated it and add red white and blue grips.
If I was to carry one of these plastic things I think it would be the M40A1
Cute, they took the worst features of the 1911...added them to the glock, and left out the good parts.
That issue was already solved by Springfied Armory with their XD line. They're far better designed than the Block. And it's come in .45 ACP for years.

Close call. The gun it reminds me of would give it serious competition for that title. The dumb-ass Colt All American:
I agree.
It’s prolly worth a pretty penny, if they didnt make many.....
I dunno...
the colt looks russian, which gives it a different kind of “cool”.
The hipoint gots nuthin. It looks like a rejected prototype of a crossman air pistol. Feels like one in your hand too.
No plastic in this threesome...yet, I do NEED a G19, just to see what all the fuss is about!
I'd rather have the Stechkin ;)
Smith & Wesson M&P Pro 9mm. 17-round capacity, three backstrap sizes for a custom fit, and a sweet 5.5 lbs. trigger from the S&W Performance Center, all for about $625.00.
Probably. I know if I had one I'd be selling it. If I got an offer on the way to the trash can.
LoL!
I been wanting to try one of those. Farmer Dean was a lifelong 1911 carrier but switched to one of those (in 45) and swears by it.
