Nevermind. The level of intellect, education and maturity displayed on this thread doesn’t warrant wasting time trying to have an intelligent discussion.
Come on you can do better than that. Why don’t you make your case. I don’t support the elevation of sexual peculiarities to civil rights because it sets up a foundation for the stripping of liberties away when people disagree over what is essentially voluntary behavior. It doesn’t have to be homosexuality, bisexuality, and the like. It could be something like prostitution, or any other voluntary behavior that people may have good reason to disagree with. It wasn’t long ago that most scientists believed homosexuality to be a disorder and though that has changed largely through the efforts of pressure groups the science hasn’t changed.
The same abuse exists at significantly higher rates of in the sexually diverse community, divorce rates in places where gay marriage is approved dwarf any among heterosexuals, also there is the often over looked fact that one time self identified homosexuals eventually stop identifying as being gay as they age. There is also the horrible correlation between childhood abuse in gay men and risky sexual behavior. I know it is hard to take especially given the drivel that passes for science reporting and the surface thinking that passes for commentary. That far too many conservatives are inarticulate or uncomfortable with conversing on the issue. I most certainly am not. I have at my back many great minds who not because of bigotry but because of science and logic don’t buy what has become a horrible political spectacle where honest debate is regulated to name calling and stupid accusations of bigotry over something that has nothing to do with race and homophobia over something that has nothing to do with fear.
Gay men sexually abused in childhood more likely to have risky sex and get HIV
