Partner violence more likely if gay

Lesbians, gays and bisexuals in California are almost twice as likely to experience intimate partner violence as heterosexuals, researchers said.

Elaine Zahnd, a sociologist at the Public Health Institute, partnered with the University of California, Los Angeles, Center for Health Policy Research in conducting the California Health Interview Survey, which found almost 4 million adults in California reported being a victim of physical or sexual violence from an intimate partner.

One-quarter of the 4 million report being forced by their intimate partner to have sex, the researchers said.

Almost 28 percent of lesbian or gay adults in California report intimate partner violence during their adult lives, 40.6 percent of bisexuals report intimate partner violence and 16.7 percent of heterosexual adults report intimate partner violence, the study said.

“These findings should cause us to reconsider our assumptions about the root causes of violence, even as we redouble our efforts to eradicate it,” Zahnd said in a statement.

Women are almost twice as likely to be victims of adult physical violence as men and are eight times as likely to report being the victim of sexual violence since age 18, the study said.

Nevermind. The level of intellect, education and maturity displayed on this thread doesn’t warrant wasting time trying to have an intelligent discussion.

Come on you can do better than that. Why don’t you make your case. I don’t support the elevation of sexual peculiarities to civil rights because it sets up a foundation for the stripping of liberties away when people disagree over what is essentially voluntary behavior. It doesn’t have to be homosexuality, bisexuality, and the like. It could be something like prostitution, or any other voluntary behavior that people may have good reason to disagree with. It wasn’t long ago that most scientists believed homosexuality to be a disorder and though that has changed largely through the efforts of pressure groups the science hasn’t changed.

The same abuse exists at significantly higher rates of in the sexually diverse community, divorce rates in places where gay marriage is approved dwarf any among heterosexuals, also there is the often over looked fact that one time self identified homosexuals eventually stop identifying as being gay as they age. There is also the horrible correlation between childhood abuse in gay men and risky sexual behavior. I know it is hard to take especially given the drivel that passes for science reporting and the surface thinking that passes for commentary. That far too many conservatives are inarticulate or uncomfortable with conversing on the issue. I most certainly am not. I have at my back many great minds who not because of bigotry but because of science and logic don’t buy what has become a horrible political spectacle where honest debate is regulated to name calling and stupid accusations of bigotry over something that has nothing to do with race and homophobia over something that has nothing to do with fear.

Gay men sexually abused in childhood more likely to have risky sex and get HIV

I’d say it’s worse with Lesbians. They are very possessive. I worked at a now defunct computer company in MA that started with a D. Our tech floor had a dozen or so. Monday morning they’d come in looking like they were coming back from Gettysburg. They’d even get into it if they thought their girlfriend was being too friendly with the guy Tech or Assembler they were working with.

I’m sure that will be the response or even better it will be ignored. The march to control everything you see and hear has commenced long ago. The level of fiction employed to push the goals of gay activists dwarfs even that employed by radical environmentalists with global warming. If people could only see the cost in liberty of allowing trumped up civil rights to be crafted to protect sexually peculiar behavior and to silence speech and science that does not agree with a political activist group. Religious people are often on the receiving end of attack but for the most part the religious have not demanded that tolerance of their faith be forced on institutions public or private. I am certain that far more individuals are discriminated against for belonging to or expressing conservative religious views in the media industry but there has not been an outcry. I’m also certain far more older people are discriminated against in the workforce than ever are turned away because of perceived effeminacy but our culture is so warped that now homophobia exceeds even ethnic discrimination in importance and regardless of its relative insignificance finds mention right alongside racism as if the disagreement with ones sexual behavior is of equal standing with one discriminated on basis of race.

We have become an insane society. We accept political fictions as science because the minority liberal ideology has overtaken institutions of learning not through winning in the marketplace of ideas but through discrimination, intimidation, and elimination of those who disagree with the institutional bias from those institutions.

I know many mock conservatives would soon cede liberals the sexual revolution and move on but look at the cost of such a revolution. The growth and influence of the welfare state is fueled by that revolution. It fed the loss of liberty with each child born to unwed mothers and an endless stream of broken families. It fed sexual abuse and we pay dividends in a the broken lives and the cycle of violence.

A FReeper psychologist who has worked with 500 gay men found that all of them suffered some type of sexual abuse by members of the same sex at an early age. I wish I had not lost the FReepers user name. Very interesting posting material.

In my line of work I have had an enormous amount of business work with homosexual men and women. Any of the ones I got to know even slightly well mentioned abuse at an early age. Many of the men also reported not having a father around, having an emotionally distant or abusive father etc. All the lesbians I have ever known well ( two I dated believe it or not ) were sexually abused by men at an early age.

Most of the lesbians I have known are still filled with rage and hatred towards men which I would think originated with the abuse they suffered.

oh, come on... that smug line of rebuttal is one usually found from a lib. I'm not calling you a lib but the “ I'm smarter than all of you so will not bother debating you “ BS just doesn't fly.

Same sex acts in themselves create aggression and anger and can lead to psychosis, according to Chinese traditional medicine. Same thing said in traditional medical science of India called Ayurveda. Same sex acts are considered extremely unclean and disease causing, both physical and mental. Homosexuality is not normal, natural or healthy. It can be treated if people want to change, and the article I just pinged out shows how those pushing the homosexual agenda want to prevent people from getting treatment. They want to keep people with SSAD - Same Sex Attraction Disorder - from being helped.

No one is born a homosexual. Homosexuals are made, not born. We do know that is not biological or hereditary. I have no clue what you mean by “organic to that person”. There are large numbers of former homosexuals but the pushers of the homosexual agenda hate this to be know.

A few years ago thousands of former homosexuals tried to pay for a full page ad in the NYT with information on organizations that treat people who want out of the “gay” life. Obviously the NYT refused to print the ad.

For some reason, two of the girls that I had crushes on turned out to be lesbians...I guess I just don’t like the manipulitive, heterosexual women that I always find.

ps. just wait to they get really violent. I was reading this book on homicide cops, and they reported that same-sex partners tend to be-on the whole—more violent and more horrific when it comes to murdering their partners.
