Does any of you think that because the United States has rejected G*D and elected Obama that he has withdrawn his hand of protection on this country and that is why the hits are coming thick and fast now?

We are on a slippery slope, but haven't gone over the cliff yet. Revival is still possible. I think God is trying to get our attention. The vast majority of Americans are ill informed because they either don't care or depend on the MSM for their news. No one in the MSM seemed to want to ask the hard questions about 0bama during the election. Some people seem to be waking up now, as they see their rights being eroded and the enemies of America are becoming more bold and showing their true colors.

Exactly what I've thought, but maybe there's a third thread here to explain events; maybe it's not about us as a nation at all. Maybe it's time that the earth is rolled up like a carpet, and this country like every other country has served its purpose. Maybe the only question remaining is the only one that ever mattered; do we accept Christ? What happens to the country or the world is irrelevant. He sure hasn't removed his hand from my life...I see his touch everyday.

BTW I take care of my 90+ year old parents and, without the hand of the HS, things would be noticeably different.

God may be chastising those who have rejected him but there are many in the U.S. who have not. From what I can tell the U.S. and its citizens remain phenomenally blessed.

Has the Holy Spirit removed his hand from the Godless/Satanic Left? I don't think it was ever there. I think we can look at the many mistakes of the Obama administration and see that the Holy Spirit is absent (nor is He wanted).

As an aside, my next door neighbor has served in Iraq with the Guard (he is a devout Christian) and he believes God's hand was with him everyday while in harm's way.

That is an ancient question and I certainly can't answer for God.

That said, some theologians have said that God permitted Israel to suffer (the Good with the Bad) because he knew that the good and faithful would endure and be strengthen in character and spirit by hard times...and, in that, He was preparing them for their inheritance.

God also permitted Daniel to be thrown into a den of lions by Darius, but he obviously loved Daniel.

IMHO, we need to trust God as we trust a loving parent. He knows that we are not strengthen by ease but by trials.

And the faithful are certainly being tested in America and Israel at this point in history.

"Be of good cheer!" This time is not so bad if we look upon it as a spiritual boot camp.

But as for the Godless/Satanic Left...I wouldn't want to be in their shoes.
