Capitalism: A Love Story - You Be Squatters in Your Own Home
Youtube video ^ | May 4, 2010 | Michael Moore

I could not believe what I was seeing. My niece posted this on her facebook page. She's a liberal and and neither her nor her husband works. They both quit their jobs. I'm guessing they may lose there home at some point.

This just makes me mad. As usual you only see part of the story. How long had this family gone without paying? I've heard of companies not doing anything for months to sometimes a couple of years. Did they ever contact the finance company and try to make other arangements? I'm not sure who the congress woman is. She is encouraging theft, and anarchy. And when she says your mortgage papers are in Wall Street and they can't find them. The women either knows she's lying or doesn't have a clue to what she is talking about. Couldn't she be charged with something? These people obviously think it's ok to steal someone else's property if it suits their needs.

One step closer to anarchy and someone squatting on your property and demanding it.

Commies hate the institution of property and attack it every chance they get, precisely because they want to live by stealing. They don't see why they can't, since when they steal everything is so much easier for them. They think other men working to stop them from stealing are cruel oppressors, because clearly living by stealing is better.

Yes they are that evil and that stupid.

Marxism decrees that all property is theft, comrade. Tell your daughter you’re moving in.

Very sad.

The War between the Makers and the Takers is coming.

If the Makers lose the Takers will starve anyway.

Brought to you by none other than {drumroll}...ACORN, they have been doing this since the 1980s:

Long before it became fashionable to be concerned about the homeless, ACORN was fighting for homes for low- and moderate-income people. Noting that economic upheaval had forced many people to default on mortgages, ACORN sought to place needy people in the resulting vacant homes. This required the forceful and illegal (though logical and moral) seizing of the properties - squatting.

The squatting campaigns involved personal, community and political dimensions. The personal needs of people without homes attracted many to advertisements ACORN placed in papers asking "Do you need a home?" The squatting campaign required a personal commitment to move into a vacant, usually poorly kept house and refit it for comfortable living. It also involved the risk of arrest if local authorities refused them the legal occupation of the home. Nevertheless, the response was great.

Straight from the horse's patootie

And it continues to be their practice to this day:

ACORN Trains Citizens to Protest Home Foreclosures (radicals squatting in abandonded homes)

And don't let anyone tell you that ACORN is no longer an entity, they only changed the names on the buildings, the "community organizers" remain the same.

Didn’t mess with the video.

However, there are some financial institutions that have played so many games with bundling and bagging mortgages they’ve lost track of the original financial instruments.

Which in some cases may mean there is no legally enforceable document to say mortgagee A owes mortgagor B the money, only records of the transfer or rights and portions of rights from one institution to another, which are arguably not legally valid.

In which case I don’t have a huge amount of sympathy for B.

Well, I’ll have to agree with you on that one. I had heard that some of these companies have lost track of papers and such. I’ve heard credit card companies doing the same thing. Wish they’d lose my info...lol
