However, there are some financial institutions that have played so many games with bundling and bagging mortgages they’ve lost track of the original financial instruments.
Which in some cases may mean there is no legally enforceable document to say mortgagee A owes mortgagor B the money, only records of the transfer or rights and portions of rights from one institution to another, which are arguably not legally valid.
In which case I don’t have a huge amount of sympathy for B.
Well, I’ll have to agree with you on that one. I had heard that some of these companies have lost track of papers and such. I’ve heard credit card companies doing the same thing. Wish they’d lose my info...lol
