LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) John McClane's string of bad luck may not yet be over.
"Hitman" screenwriter Skip Woods is in negotiations with 20th Century Fox to take a crack at a new "Die Hard" script. The New York cop known for consistently being in the wrong place at the right time has already survived four run-ins with terrorists, traitors and psychotic loose cannons of one stripe or another.
In his last outing, "Live Free or Die Hard," written by Mark Bomback and directed by Len Wiseman in 2007, McClane battled Web terrorists to $378 million in worldwide grosses -- 20 years after pitching Hans Gruber out a broken window at Fox towers. The studio sees another installment as a strong bet.
There's no word yet on the new project's story line, but former Fox executive Alex Young ("Unstoppable") is producing.

Right - on the pinball machine a la ‘The Accused’.
The last Die Hard, along with the last Rocky and Rambo flicks were enjoyable to good (IMO). Better another reasonably well done Die Hard film than a ‘reboot/remake’ like the upcoming Red Dawn or A-Team ‘stink from 10 miles away’ duds.
The next Star Trek comes out in 2012 - should be good stuff! On the other hand, Indiana Jones 5 is also slated for 2012 - I’ll pass on that one, the last one was drivel.
Coneheads??? YOU LIKE CONEHEADS?!?!
I thought I was the only person in North America that liked it! That’s one of those flicks that I’ll watch (although I haven’t seen it in years) anytime!
“The flerndip Ronnie”
“Roxbury” was a bad idea to begin with. SNL has been trying to surpass or equal “The Blues Brothers” for the past 30 years, and they will never do so. Firstly, most of the skits are so bad and the players so forgettable these days, it’s hard to. I really don’t watch it anymore (especially after Farley and Hartman, the last “best” performers), it just went sadly downhill, and is only kept on the air because it is an institution. They should’ve canned it around 2000, and that’s being generous.
As for “Wayne’s World”, that was probably the best SNL spin-off movie from the ‘90s. “Coneheads” they waited WAY too long to do, and it should’ve been done right about the same time they did TBB in ‘80 (’81 would’ve been fantastic, and Belushi & Aykroyd could’ve been in it instead of that awful waste “Neighbors”). The worst thing they did, hands down, was TBB sequel, TBB: 2000. No Joliet Jake, no Blues Brothers. Hell, I’m still mad at Johnny Belushi for OD’ing. Think of all the great movies we might’ve had had he cleaned up his act.
What I find really odd is the plethora of movies they are allegedly making named after board games.
Battleship, Candy Land, ect.
It’s called “scraping the bottom of the barrel.” I expect by 2020, we’ll be down to movies called “Smegma” and “Ow, My Balls.”
Yeah.
Connie Conehead (film version only) was the world’s hottest bald chick.
Yes Connie Conehead!
The bald chick from the first Star Trek movie was hot too!
Hmmm...bald chicks...must call g/f to see if she would indulge...
I liked the first Roxbury skit with Jim Carrey. I was surprised it became a recurring skit.
I liked Will Ferrell, especially his Bush. I pretty much quit watching regularly after he left.
The firing of Norm MacDonald was the first nail for me his weekend update was my favorite part of the show. Weekend update sucks monkey balls now.
‘Cept Connie wore a baldcap, she didn’t shave her head. Persis DID shave her head. I preferred both actresses with long hair...
More 2020 titles:
“Ow, Ow, You’re On My Hair!”
“Are you done yet?”
“Public Bathroom Bofffest”
Just once, I would like the bad guys to be a gang of Somali Jihadis.
If they were going to do “Roxbury”, they should’ve done it with Carrey — and with Aykroyd & Steve Martin playing their embarrassingly washed-up Festrunk brothers as their “mentors.” With a good script (ha), that might’ve been better...
Yeah, Norm was funny, but he was fired for constantly reminding the audience O.J. did it (I believe O.J.’s buddy Dick Ebersol ordered Lorne Michaels to do it). I cannot stand Scarface Fey, I want to hit her with a shovel every time I see her face. Her portrayal of Gov. Palin is personally offensive and vicious. The show lacks any courage in going after Zero, who is about the ripest target (next to Biden, the first mentally retarded VP in history).
George Michael can star in that last one (along with Larry Craig and Jim McGreevey).
Well, the only prob is poor Persis has perished.
I C K ! ! ! I was thinking it would be a bio-pic of Lindsay Lohan.
True. Foul play suspected IIRC, right?
Someone supposedly claimed that, citing that she was (controversially) politically active in her native India.
Ah. Thank you for the information!
