Did he do Thiesman again?
At least he’s trim and slim for his orange suit. He may be wearing it for a long time...
That would be a bad break. /sarc
What do they think this is the NBA?
Always with the hotels. Gezz, can’t these guys get a room with a hooker instead?
That is a better headline than
was arrested today for raping an alleged woman
Was it rape-rape???
There was some controversy about his admitted drug use when they were considering putting him in the Hall of Fame. The general consensus was to get him in before his inevitable self destruction. I had thought he turn himself around.
Don’t know. Let’s as Whoopi for her opinion.
Nutrisystems really does work, I guess.
Why is it that some of my very favorite Giants all wind up in the slammer? Please say it ain’t so, LT.
Carrying around some demons? Is that anything like being a thug? Many athletes have been allowed to get away with most anything for years until they finally commit a crime that cannot be covered up.
This leads to my advice to young ladies - if a guy makes a living by being brutal, it’s probably not a good idea to be alone with him. Just sayin....
On the other hand, athletes are always a target for the deranged and the greedy. Unless there is real evidence, then this is another he said/she said situation.
If I were the police, I’d start watching Dan Marino.
Arrest is effected when reasonable suspicion is met. In most jurisdictions, that means something more than just a statement of a complaining witness. I suspect that the complaining witness bears some physical evidence of assault, and/or Taylor perhaps said something incriminating if/when speaking to police.
She was underage (15) from what I read. Also, may have been beaten. Not good at all...
He has kinfolks in Rockland.
I bought a 1987 Grand Wagoneer Woody from his brother or cousin brand new and met him at the dealership in Nyack then.
I’m big....he was really big.
...yet another false idol crashes to earth...
15? WTF? I have no patience or sympathy for pedophiles - in my book, a 50-year old man forcing himself on a 15-year old is a "jackpot" offense.
“Arrest is effected when reasonable suspicion is met”.
No, reasonable suspiciaon only allows a cop to speak with you. It must rise to the higher standard of “probable cause” for you to be arrested.
The additional evidence was probably him speaking to the police and admitting to a consensual encounter. Her age was the issue in that charge, even if consensual on her part.
But the fact remains,,, women these days sure seem to have the interesting habit of visiting the hotel rooms of famous athletes, whom they do not know personally. You really don’t see these guys going out to the street and dragging these woman into their rooms by force.
Real ugly. According the the local newspaper she was a 15 yearl old run away, controlled by a pimp and beaten
Dont know. Lets as Whoopi for her opinion.
Don’t you mean “Les axe Whoopi fo’ her o...op.. whut she t’inks”?
Yes, for most other crimes, that is true. But, I was speaking about cases of domestic assault/rape. In these cases (and in most states that I'm familiar), "reasonable suspicion" is all that is required, by statute.
In most states, if police can identify the aggressor, and have a reasonable suspicion that a crime has occurred, then they're empowered, by statute, to effect arrest.
Just watched a show the other night on A&E about him and the former Miss USA. It was about drug addiction. After watching the show, knowing what I know about it, I can tell you both are still on drugs.
Now I read this. I am not saying he is guilty, but I would not be surprised if this happened. Moreover, it will confirm what I thought.
“Dont know. Lets as Whoopi for her opinion.”
Don’t you mean “les axe Whoopi...”
Was that the beauty queen that Trump "saved" by sending her to rehab? I'm sorry to hear she's back on the drugs. Too bad.
1. Sale of 50% of the team (the half originally owned by John Mara since it was passed down from the team's founder in 1930) to Robert Tisch (Loews Corporation owner and former U.S. Postmaster General) in 1991.
2. Death of Wellington Mara in 2005, with his 50% ownership passing to his son John.
3. Death of Bob Tisch shortly thereafter, with his 50% ownership passing to his son, entertainment industry executive Steve Tisch.
4. Items #1 and #2 marked the official passing of the torch from the old "football" ownership to the new "business" ownership, and it hasn't been pretty.
5. Announcement in 2005 of a new stadium in the New Jersey Meadowlands, to be shared with the New York Jets and completed in time for the 2010 season.
6. Complete disaster in the sale of season tickets and seat licenses to fans in 2008-09. The Giants were once famed for their season ticket waiting list, and for years people would put their names on this list in the hopes that their children would be able to buy season tickets 25 years later. The economic collapse of 2008-09 didn't help matters, and many seats remain unsold as former "life-long fans" have abandoned the team in droves due to the outrageous $5,000 to $20,000 cost of seat licenses for "regular seats," and the team's inability to meet the demand for the cheapest seats among fans who had attended games at Giants Stadium, Yankee Stadium and the Yale Bowl over the course of the last five decades.
If the guy who had long been the defining player in the history of the franchise and the greatest NFL player of all time meets a terrible fate in the criminal justice system, then this would surely mark the end of the New York Football Giants as I knew them.
3pm news conference.
Yes. She said she is off, but you can look at her tell she is not. It’s obvious. Plus what she says. I have seen it so many times before. I used to be fooled by it, but not anymore.
Not really sure why you have a problem with owners passing on ownership of a property to their sons.

Woman??? Try a 15-year old GIRL...
Yes, that should have been mentioned in the headline and the excerpt.
I always thought that LT stood for Lawrence Taylor, but apparently it stands for little thinking...
I don’t have a problem with it at all. My point is that the team is now a mere shadow of its former self since the sons have taken it over. It’s no longer a football team — it’s just one small piece in an entertainment giant that has as its centerpiece a $1.6 billion stadium in the Meadowlands that I will probably never see from the inside.
I (not the original poster) have no problem with that at all.
However the history of the Giants does show that intelligence and integrity are not hereditary.
In most other lines of business, when one franchisee totally screws itself with the customers, the home office is able to kick sufficient butt to solve the problem. Unfortunately the NFL is not so structured.
All sport is entertainment. We, as fans, are too emotionally involved to see that. If you owned a company, wouldn’t you want to maximize your revenue?
15 will get you 20
But for the life of me, I cannot understand why they didn't put a retractable roof on that thing. Coulda had the Superbowl every 7-8 years or so!
Wish that so much weren't dependent on whether or not Eli wakes up in a bad mood Sunday morning, however.
Getting back to LT: From those I've known who've worked with him (for promotions/ads) in the past, he is a genial, approachable, and charming man. Such are also the primary characteristics of predators. I think in this case he was on a power trip with the young lady, and got carried away. Rape is still rape, however, and we shall see what the investigation reveals.
What was Bush’s involvement? Maybe Rove set up LT. /sar
“According the the local newspaper she was a 15 yearl old run away, controlled by a pimp and beaten”
Taylor and the pimp need to spend a long time in prison.
He says he’s innocent. Yes, I assumed it’s true when I read the headline but we need to learn to wait for the facts.
